Here is another project we made at my Christmas All Day event. The observant of you will notice my theme for the day…. yes… houses, 12 Days of Christmas & All is Calm papers! Love them all!!!
This is a long time favourite mini book format of mine (Thanks again Debbie for the introduction!) Though I added some more pages to the previous versions made. So I ended up with 11 pages with flaps inside to suit the 12 Days of Christmas stamp set! Can’t wait to add some photos now!
And I just couldn’t resist adding Santa coming down the chimney as the only piece of decoration inside…. the image was stamped on the paper, then re-stamped on a piece of Whisper White – from which the fireplace part was hand cut out & 3D adhered onto the image on the paper…. Didn’t want all those stripes going through my fireplace….
View from the side… the windows, window-boxes and door are all made using parts of the windows in the Holiday Home stamp set
And the view from above….. no-one started off happy with the very delicate Striped Scallops die-cutting for the roof…until they saw a roof on a house box I made years ago…. scallop edge punch and lots & lots of cardstock! Suddenly they were much happier!!! And it just had to be….. perfect for the job….
Oh and my tip for the 12 Days of Christmas stamp set ( wood version) ….
Ignore the 2 wooden blocks supplied & grab a larger block… carefully line up & stick the 2 stamps ( ON THE & CHRISTMAS) on … leaving room to insert the “First Day of” etc in between (mine has 9mm between the images/rubber).
Takes a bit of time to get everything lined up & straight…. but it saves so much time when it comes to stamping… and this stamp set is definitely a keeper for me!
You can probably get the idea more from the photo of the stickers on the top of the block…but I thought it was time to share what a much loved stamp block looks like too!!!
So a second tip for you today…. all that ink at the top….that will just sand off… that wood block will look as good as new when I get my little sanding block on it!! Later….
