Hello and welcome to the Global Stamping Friends international Blog Hop from Amanda at The Craft Spa in the UK...
Today we are featuring "Plaid"... which is brilliant... apart from the fact that I don't have any of the readily available plaid patterned paper in the Wrapped in Plaid paper packs.... or in any other (current) paper pack I own!
So what is a girl to do.... well... make my own of course!! Which I have been meaning to do for a very long time...
Ink up and stamp Buffalo Check in Gray Granite....
Followed by Poppy Parade marker pen lines...
Then Basic Black marker lines to finish off... Note that I went for all my lines first in Poppy Parade... but then decided I wanted another colour after all... so I went over every other Poppy line with Basic Black! You obviously would only do half the Poppy lines in the first place!
And then the So Many Stars stamps and Stitched Stars dies were out... so I thought... why not! And a few minutes later... here you go...
And waste not...want not... no point in wasting that die cut aperture I ended up with - so another "scrap card" for you...
Want to know more about Plaid? Well I found this fascinating history article on the web... though someone may still have to explain the difference between Gingham and (Buffalo) Check to me!!!
And now it is time to pass you onto the lovely Angelique in the Netherlands... just click on the arrow below to go straight there...
Or use the Roll Call list below if you prefer to hop that way...

Ooh I love your designs, Amanda. The stars are a great pairing with the plaid for a festive card. Super elegant colours too. Thanks for sharing x
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Rachel... and I love the way Buffalo Check has had such a good workout today...
DeleteBeautiful cards! Awesome way to make your own plaid! Not sure I would have thought of that!! And thanks for the history lesson!! It was very interesting! To know the difference between buffalo check and gingham, I think you will need them side by side in your hands...that will be the best way. Good luck!😉
ReplyDeleteThank you June... and yes I think you are right about gingham and buffalo check being side by side... I guess It is something to do with the weave...
DeleteLo e the colours and the extra detail you added to the buffalo check!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lisa ..
DeleteLove those stars! And how the Buffalo Plaid looks different than how I used it.
ReplyDeleteThank you Amanda... and I love how different all the Buffalo Plaids turned out......
DeleteYour projects are great as usual. Love the color combo too. TFS
