And finally here is the 4th and last project we did at my All Day Session the other Saturday…. they were all certainly kept busy with their Handled Cantilever Box & 3 mini books! And...yes… for those of you in the know… even – and particularly - Ginette!!!!
This is another all-time favourite project of both my class regulars - and my fellow Jems Team members when I have shared at a Quarterly Team Training Inspiration Station…. And new papers & new classmates meant I could make up another…..
This is a project that I designed years ago… though if I remember rightly it was an amalgam of a similar 6” version of the book plus my trusty belly band closure…. but the 8” Square size gives it more presence if you know what I mean (and larger photos!!!) ….. And it is another project that has been used as a Mini Book as well as being sent as a Special Card too…..
And seeing as it is really such a simple project … I thought it was about time I shared the instructions with you…..
Book
- Cut 2 pieces of Real Red 12x12 card to 12” x 8”
- Score both LANDSCAPE at 4”
- Trim 2mm (or skinny 1/8”) off 8” Square section on one panel
- Bone Fold (Valleys)
- Adhere “trimmed Square section” on top of the untrimmed 8” Square section to form the back of the book
- Add a 7 3/4” Pool Party Square card panel on top
Back Panel Pages
- Cut 2 double sided patterned papers to two each of 3 5/8” x 7 1/4” ( ie you need 4 in total!)
- Score LANDSCAPE at 3 5/8”
Front Cover & Inside Side Pages
- Cut Pool Party Card Mats 3 ¾”x 7 ¾” (x4)
- Cut 2 double sided patterned papers to 7” wide x7 ½ H”
- Trim those 2 papers in half to 3 1/2”W x 7 1/2” H
Belly Band
- Cut Real Red card to 2 ½”x12” and 2 ½”x 8 1/16” (or metric 20.5cm)
- Cut Paper 2 ¼” x 12”and 2 ¼” x 8 1/16”
- Stick papers to card panels
- Place the 12” panel over the front of the closed decorated book
- Fold 12” panel over the sides of the decorated book
- Cover back of book/belly band with 8 1/16” wide panel
And there you have it….. Then it is ready to decorate as you desire….
