Last of the Dapper Dad Cards..….

2013_03_Amanda Bates at The Craft Spa,UK Stampin Up demonstrator, Dapper DadBow Tie 3D (3)

I think you can probably tell which is my favourite image from the three in the the Dapper Dad stamp set ....yup ... you guessed it ... it’s the bow tie....

A fairly straightforward card but with quite a bit of detail added.

The Stripes embossing folder for the centre panel of the shirt.

Clean & Simple Dapper Dad Watch Man’s Card

2013_03_Amanda Bates at The Craft Spa,UK Stampin Up demonstrator, Dapper Dad Watch (1)

Another clean & simple card using the Dapper Dad stamp set with the Parkers Patterns papers. Think there is just one more Dapper Dad card to share after this one!! We did these in a class back in March and again I thought it was about time I got round to sharing them.

This one uses the watch image with a soda pop top which was crushed through the Big Shot just to add a little detail around the watch face.  I also tried filling in the watch face with Crystal Effects but the ink ran badly so... don't try that one at home!

But I have to admit that I now prefer the watch detailed using the Silver Basics Designer button and brad as shown on yesterday's post.... Though the pop top version maybe better for a ladies watch… What do you think??

SU! Supplies

Stamps – Dapper Dad; Sassy Salutations

Papers – Parkers Patterns

Cardstock – Naturals Ivory; Not Quite Navy; Baja Breeze; Marina Mist

Ink – Not Quite Navy

Embellishments – Soda Pop Top

Clean & Simple at The Craft Spa on Saturday – another Dapper Dad Bow Tie Mans Card

2013_03_Amanda Bates at The Craft Spa,UK Stampin Up demonstrator 027

Staying on the theme of Cards for Men & Boys… here is another card using the wonderful bow tie image from the Dapper Dad stamp set in the Spring/Summer catalogue. Although really simple in design.. this card was the favourite amongst the ladies in my Dapper Dads Mens’ Class back in March…..

I didn’t share these as I was going to do this one as my Team Training swap card for April…. and then Stampin’ Up! announced the Colour Refresh… and I realised that the main colours in the card were going!! So I had a rethink and came up with this Black Tie or DJ or Dinner Suit card instead……

I have  just had a scoot around my blog….. and realised that my Colour Refresh post didn’t actually post….. so I will be back with that soon…..

In the meantime…… Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy used here will be gone come 30 June ….. sniff!!! Stock up on card and inks etc if they are your favourite colours too…..

Other colours going….. Bashful Blue; Certainly Celery; Lucky Limeade, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Riding Hood Red, Bravo Burgundy, River Rock; More Mustard

But never fear – you will love the new colours coming our way!!!

Happy Fathers Day to the Worlds Greatest Dad or Father… and a Tip for Builder Wheels!

Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa, Worlds Greatest Dad, Father, Male 003

Following on from the Teen Boy birthday card posted yesterday, here are a couple of cards suitable for Fathers Day or for a Male Birthday for that matter….

This time I have used Not Quite Navy, Lucky Limeade with a hint of Baja Breeze – sadly… all these colours are retiring at the end of June so don’t forget to stock up on card and inks if they are your favourites….. There is also some Basic Grey – but that is not retiring!

The Happy Fathers Day wording is from the Best Dad Ever stamp set ( you know… the one with the 5 ties in a row) – I didn’t realise I had the wording in a long thin format that I needed…. and then suddenly there was a light-bulb moment!!!!

The background script matches the Morning Post Alphabet that I have used for the letters…. using the Travel Journal builder wheel. Though mine doesn’t look like a wheel any more… just a long thin clear mount stamp….

I have to admit that although I love my wheels…. I struggle with the narrow builder wheels when I want to use them on their own…. so necessity being the mother of invention…. I quickly whipped the rubber of the wheel ( and quick is quick… it took about 2 seconds!!) and stuck the rubber on the clear mount foam that SU! stock and cut out my new long thin stamp…. eh voila… The next problem being that the stamp is too long for the longest clear mount block… so more head scratching….. and sorted… I stuck it on my trusty clear acetate 12” ruler… perfect!! Now if anyone knows where to get 8” clear rulers… please do tell… they would be the business   - as I could have each of my new clear mount “wheel stamps” on a ruler each…. ready to go!!

Here is an alternative card for Father….. using the Distressed Dots background stamp ( a new love me thinks!!!)  and Whisper White craft ink  - along with the Father word from the Amazing Family stamp set.  I have used my blender pen to colour in the FATHER wording… just going over the just-stamped image with the blender pen… there was enough ink to give the colour lift  I neededAmanda Bates, The Craft Spa, Worlds Greatest Dad, Father, Male 013.

And here they are together … I know a Dad and a Father that will be very happy to receive these!!!!
