Something Special for the Weekend... Pop out Panel Card

Couple of back to back posts this weekend... as one creation creates the other!
Starting off with a favourite in last week's classes... for a special birthday... featuring Noble Peacock Papers & Foils, Stitched Stars dies, Stitched Rectangles dies, Itty Bitty Birthday... and retired Large Numbers dies...
Such a quick and easy card... and suitable for any age group... male/female...and most occasions... No idea why I hadn't made this one up before! And I reckon a few more to grace these pages as time moves on!! So more on this another day!
In the meantime... I just snipped the Stitched Rectangle between the 2 words on the greeting...so then it could pop behind the numbers... and be totally readable!!

Bubble Over... in glorious technicolour...

Sharing a card we made at our last Quarterly training... that I particularly love!

A card that I had pinned to try later when I first saw it... so it was great to have the opportunity to make it with someone just telling me how!!
A bit of heat embossing and sponging magic with the Bubble Over bundle to turn a simple white card and die-cuts into something bright and cool...

Though I do have to laugh at my Bermuda Bay straw going over the edge of the card so far... and I can even remember taking the time & effort to not let that happen!!! Must have started chatting instead...
Thanks to Sarah Klass for the stunning original design... and Julie for choosing the card for a Training make! More details for you on the card here at Julie's blog...

Nailed It Build It #1

Nailed It! is one of my favourite bundles in the Spring Summer catalogue... great to have some tools to play with to make cards for the men in my life... and be warned I have a very long list of project ideas inspired by this set.... though it will be a few weeks before I get to use them properly...

Had my first go at using them at our Quarterly Team Training the other week... so here is one Julie made earlier! Nice one Julie...
Great simple little card using the Hardwood background stamp (stamped in Basic Grey on Crumb Cake), Stitched Shapes Framelits (as they are now back in stock), Urban Underground Washi Tape and strongly featuring some Nailed It! paper pieced tools....
And here are the product images... remember that the stamp set/bundle is available in both wood and clear mount...

Centre Step Easel Tardis Card for Tuesday!

My Tardis has been causing a bit of a reaction amongst Stampin' Up! demonstrators around the world!! As a result Friday night and Saturday was very busy on this blog...

So whilst I was packing my Going Places paper stack leftovers away from the month's classes.... my eyes suddenly spotted the 2 paper designs I had left... and I felt inspired to make a card for all the Whovians out there... many of whom I know have started to follow me over the weekend... so hello and welcome to you!!
So without further ado ...as these papers will not be available in a few hours time..... here is my Centre Step Easel Card dressed up with a Tardis in space...

But now I have made this card... I know I can go one better!!! I know the very card... So please feel free to comment on this post and so guilt trip me to making the other card I have in my head... even though the papers will have gone for good by then...
And before I go...a Top Tip for you with the windows of your Tardis... grab your clear Wink of Stella and wink away... they seriously now look rather life like!
Thank you Lynzie for this fabulous Top Tip.....(as she had opened up her new Wink of Stella seconds before she started to make her Tardis... and so it just had to be used immediately!! To such great effect....)

Pop N Cuts Die The Series – Sports Themed Cards – Rugby - and Cricket

Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa, Pop N Cuts die, Rugby Posts (1)

I was very honoured to be asked to produce some Stampers Show Case projects for our monthly Team Newsletter this month – so I decided to focus on the Pop N Cuts card base and Dress Form insert. Suited me down to the ground as I got to have a nice play with a die!! And did I have a play… cards, boxes, bags, mini books, treat holders…… so this is the first post in a series of “Pop N Cuts – the Series”!!

This card was the first that I had to make. As soon as I saw the shape of the pop out…. rugby posts popped into my head…. to my delight as my son and friends are all keen rugby players!! And I have been racking my brains for Rugby themed SU! only cards for years!! Hence why there are 2 more samples shown below…. this time using photos of actual rugby balls… one for my sons’ club YORK RUFC and the other for Ireland…..

Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa, Pop N Cuts die, Rugby Posts (3)

I hope to have a series of sports themed ones another day – I already have a list! In the meantime here is a cricket themed card made by Julie Kettlewell for her son within hours of seeing my rugby card!! Isn’t that fabulous! Glad to inspire someone SO quickly!!! I had to share this too Julie!!

So .. the details… for my Rugby Card.

The Rugby Posts are created using Window Sheets ( aka acetate) on the trimmed pop out portion with slivers of White cardstock on top.

The Rugby Post Protectors and Kicking Tee are created using the Modern Label Punch – perfect for the job!

The Rugby Ball is created by using the American Football image from the Great Sport set… with my trusty black ink and blender pen to colour it in!! Seemed to get away with it too!! No huge moans….

Come back soon for more feminine projects……

Stampin’ Up Supplies

Stamps – Great Sport; Word Play; Bring on the Cake

Dies – Pop N Cuts card base; Dress Form Insert

Punches – Modern Label

Cardstock & Papers – Bashful Blue; Certainly Celery ( both retiring very soon!); Real Red; Window Sheet

Ties, Tardis & Golf Cards for Fathers Day or Birthday…..

Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa, May 2013, Mens & Boys Class (11)

No not all on the one card…!!! At the last class I ran… I gave my ladies a number of options for some of the Men & Boys cards they were making… so one card format but different looks – and to suit different tastes/ages.

So they could choose from the Best Dad Ever Ties, the Punched Golfer and … last but not least, the Tardis….

And see the Faux stitching on the Ties & Golf cards… not Amanda and her marker this time….much much easier!!!! It is part of the In Stitches Stampin Around Wheel  – which I have since mutilated!!! See more details shared here… but I cut off the wheel rubber, mounted on clear mount cling foam , cut off the separate lines of stitches & mounted them on a clear ruler (I have now bought a few cheapy rulers – which I just cut down with a craft knife to about 7 1/2” – perfect!! And they fit in the Clear Mount stamp cases – so perfect for storage too…..) Will admit though… these thin stitches are better inked up with a marker pen rather than an inkpad……..

Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa, May 2013, Mens & Boys Class - Golfer (2)

And last but not least … the Tardis in Space card…. the police box image is from the … now not available…. Feeling Sentimental stamp set which was an exclusive stamp set under the January to March Sale A Bration promotion earlier this year… so sorry for sharing this too late!! And this time I left my wheel alone……

X Box controller card for the boys!

Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa, May 2013, Mens & Boys Class , X Box Controller (2)

A bit different to the Dapper Dad shares recently…. here is one more suitable for my son and friends…..

The unmistakable shape of the card was just produced by borrowing my son’s controller and drawing round it!! And virtually everything else was down to my trusty circle punches…. with a bit of daubing around the edges – and a hand drawn X. The left and right arrows are the tiny pennants in the Itty Bitties stamp set – perfect for the job!
