Tuesday Tutorial - A6 Double Fan Fold Card

Quickly coming back to the True Love A6 Double Fan Fold card I posted last Friday... with the A6 recipe and measurements for the A4 cardstock users...

Edited to Add...But before I start... Free Shipping tomorrow... for orders £35+... 24 hours only... starting at 11pm tonight for us in the UK...

And I have added the links to more detailed tutorials at the end for those of you that haven't made a Double Fan Fold card before... I used Carole's tutorial as my base for this size as it is the most similar... and there are some very useful photos in her post to make the steps clearer...

Recipe

Basic Black cardstock 14.8 x 19cm.
Basic White cardstock 6.5 x 14.3cm (for back of card)
True Love Paper Front Panel 6.5 x 14.3cm
True Love Paper Long Side Triangle 2.5 x 14cm (x2)
True Love Paper Short Side (Top & Bottom) Triangles 2.5 x 5.7cm (x4)

Tutorial

(1) Score Black card panel when LANDSCAPE (ie 19cm length along top) at 3, 6, 13 &16 cm

(2) Score - when LANDSCAPE (ie 19cm length along top) - from upper left corner (0) to bottom 6cm score line (ie 2nd score line from left). Then score from top 6cm (2nd) score line to bottom left corner (0)

(3) Now score from upper 13cm score line (ie 3rd from left) to bottom right (19cm) corner. Then score from upper right corner (19cm) to bottom left 13cm (3rd) score line.

Cut the paper pieces at a diagonal…

(4) For the 4 small Short Side triangles… When PORTRAIT (ie narrow 2.5cm side along top) - cut from upper left corner to lower right corner for 2 of the pieces. Then, cut from upper right corner to bottom left corner for the remaining 2 pieces

(5) For the 2 Long Side triangles… Mark the top centre at 7cm when LANDSCAPE (ie along the 14cm side) Cut from that top centre point to bottom left corner and then from top centre to bottom right

(6) Adhere all papers

(7) Die cut Stitched Stars, Gold Foil numbers (retired) and Stitched So Sweetly label

(8) Add Matte Black Dots and Gilded Gems to centres of stars

Wednesday WOW! - 2020 Graduate Celebration in the house...

Proud and happy parents here... as the son and heir got a 2.1 in Computer Science last week... what a star!

And this is the card (in his colours) I made!! Gray Granite & Merry Merlot...
A very large A4 Square card (so 21cm Square or US 8 1/4" Square)...

Really wish I hadn't sold this retired Morning Star stamp set on... though I have to admit to spending about an hour stamping this star in various colours before I passed them on!! And they have only gone a few miles up the road!!

Birthday Bonanza Buddies - Baby Bear #7

Well I couldn't waste that Birthday Bonanza paper Stitched Stars star could I...
So yes another card created from the scrap from this one!
Spot the creativity of my friend and fellow teamie Julie Wade this time... turning the Bonanza Buddies lion into a bear (in this case a teddy type bear)... so yes... more animals (than you thought) for your money...
I did laugh at the time... and say how about a penguin for christmas...so Julie did... but I didn't get a photo to share with you... but maybe I'll be back with that thought when I get a minute in a few weeks time!!

Oh and greeting from Little Twinkle...

You will do Amazing Things Gap Card .. with Noble Peacock papers

Another one of the Gap cards that I didn't share at the time... click here for the Card tutorial...
One created for another of my son's friends off to university after an exciting year out travelling many parts of the world... and he was well chuffed!
Though I used the Noble Peacock papers, Stitched Nested Labels dies and Everything Amazing to create this card... the star is actually a "random punch I have" from somewhere... but of course I would used the Stitched Stars dies if I were to re-make this now! So it would be even better...
And I liked the card so much... I made two... did you spot that?

Here's the duo... I just switched the stamped colours around and added an extra bit of ribbon to the one on the right...
And an admittance! Forgot to press the publish button again yesterday! But it'll save...

A bigger star...

Take a simple little card...
And make it larger...
Simply by adding to a large card blank... in this case a 14.8cm square card blank (about 5 3/4" - so I would use a 5 1/2" square card blank if using US Letter card size)
And it immediately become something more special...
Both inside and out!

Saturday Simple Morning Star Congratulations

Can't believe I hadn't shared this simple little card with you...
One made in a hurry as a box needed to go in the post about 10 minutes later!
But so very effective.... and just said it all... to a son that did so well in his exams!

And I liked it so much... I had to make two! And so did everyone else in classes!

Something Simple for the Weekend... super CAS Stitched Stars

So this card was pretty much created from yesterday's... so I guess I could call this another Scrap Card...

As the Stitched Star was lined up and die cut out of the centre of a 12 cm (4 3/4") square piece of Thick Whisper White card...
Then stuck to a 12.5cm (5") square Gray Granite card...

Swooshed with an embossing buddy...
Greeting (from So Many Stars) stamped in Versamark through the aperture...

White embossing Powder added... and heated to melt...

Finished off simply with a few shiny Gemstones...
Another perfect super - CAS (Clean & Simple) card for any occasion... just change up the greeting!

And here are the 2 cards together...

Something Special for the Weekend... Pop out Panel Card

Couple of back to back posts this weekend... as one creation creates the other!
Starting off with a favourite in last week's classes... for a special birthday... featuring Noble Peacock Papers & Foils, Stitched Stars dies, Stitched Rectangles dies, Itty Bitty Birthday... and retired Large Numbers dies...
Such a quick and easy card... and suitable for any age group... male/female...and most occasions... No idea why I hadn't made this one up before! And I reckon a few more to grace these pages as time moves on!! So more on this another day!
In the meantime... I just snipped the Stitched Rectangle between the 2 words on the greeting...so then it could pop behind the numbers... and be totally readable!!

Double Gap Stitched Stars Card for Fun Fold Friday

Sometime the simplest of ideas for a card fold work... and sometimes they don't so much... but I will let you decide which way this card fold went...
So for today... whilst I keep you guessing...

I would love to hear your thoughts... and any guesses as to how this Double Gap Card is made... and what about it made me 'laugh out very loud" ...

You can use comments below OR the feedback form down the right hand side (or email me

Stitched Stars

So I thought it high time those 5 little Stitched Stars dies were used...

So here you go... one way to use them...
Each die being lined up with the stitching at each "corner" and stuck down with Low Tack masking tape... die cut...and then the die cut pieces being popped back into the holes...

And 4 of them would be great for corners too...
Finished off with another Stitched Stars die cut, a Christmas Gleaming hand cut greeting and then finally... a silver Designer Element...
