May 2021 be the Best Year Ever!

Eventually...

I definitely think it will be.... But in the meantime... just let's all hang in there, think of and take care of each other and stay safe until it gets going...

Wednesday WOW! - 2020 Graduate Celebration in the house...

Proud and happy parents here... as the son and heir got a 2.1 in Computer Science last week... what a star!

And this is the card (in his colours) I made!! Gray Granite & Merry Merlot...
A very large A4 Square card (so 21cm Square or US 8 1/4" Square)...

Really wish I hadn't sold this retired Morning Star stamp set on... though I have to admit to spending about an hour stamping this star in various colours before I passed them on!! And they have only gone a few miles up the road!!

Friday Field of Flowers...

A very quick share of another sponged Field of Flowers card...

As it is now past my bed-time... as it has just been one of those days... but I thought I could just squeeze one more job in... as tomorrow will be even busier!
I will be back with more details on this one another day... but in the meantime... you can see another version shared earlier with more details here...

Field of Flowers in the Moonlight

Loving this dreamy look... there again I have always loved a silhouette of two!

Could also be called when Field of Flowers meets Lovely You...
Set on a small square card (10.5cm or 4 1/4")

And I am pulling together the details for my Class in the Mail Kit for the Field of Flowers bundle... more details to follow but it will be about £35 for the Base Kit ... so please email me by clicking here if you are interested... No obligation at this time...

A bigger star...

Take a simple little card...
And make it larger...
Simply by adding to a large card blank... in this case a 14.8cm square card blank (about 5 3/4" - so I would use a 5 1/2" square card blank if using US Letter card size)
And it immediately become something more special...
Both inside and out!

Saturday Simple Morning Star Congratulations

Can't believe I hadn't shared this simple little card with you...
One made in a hurry as a box needed to go in the post about 10 minutes later!
But so very effective.... and just said it all... to a son that did so well in his exams!

And I liked it so much... I had to make two! And so did everyone else in classes!

Painted Poppies Splatter Notecards Trio Step by Step Pictorial

So I have been asked a few questions on the creation of my Painted Poppy notecards with splatters .... so I thought it easiest to just make another, take some photos and come back to share!

So colourwise... I used Pretty Peacock, Seaside Spray and Granny Apple Green on this and most of my other Painted Poppies samples but Poppy Parade (instead of Pretty Peacock) on the first version shared (as shown below but first shared here with more product details and images...
No masking involved...

And note that ...

stamped off the Seaside Spray (sky) splatters ie ink up stamp, stamp on scrap paper, then stamp onto card...

But I didn't stamp off the Granny Apple Green (grass) splatters - I just stamped twice/thrice without re-inking ...

(1) Die cut label ( this label is in the co-ordinating Painted Labels dies)
(2) Stamp single stem poppy in Memento Black
(3) Stamp large Splatters behind poppy (to top) NB stamped off!
(4) Stamp Granny Apple Green splatters to bottom NB stamped twice
(5) Using stamped label for required positioning on card... ink up and stamp Seaside Spray and Granny Apple Green large splatters directly onto notecard to left hand side... you can see better in the 3rd photo below...

(6) Colour in flowers and leaves using Stampin Blends
(7) Adhere stamped label to card using 3D foam Stampin Dimensionals
(8) Finish off with a hand cut Label Me Bold greeting (in Pretty Peacock/Poppy Parade)

And then I used the same technique on this card...
With the extra touch of the Enjoy Life grass image (in Granny Apple Green)... over the "grass splatters"  for extra definition... ie Top Left image below...
And I will be back soon with a tip for the shaped card mat behind that Painted Poppies/ Labels die cut label on this last card!

Valentine Trio

Now as I made this year's clean & simple Hey Valentine card (shared here)... I knew some of my ladies would think I had gone completely and barking mad with the gorilla image,. and that they would really would not want to make that one for their "loved one"... so I made a few spares...

First up a simple stamped and die cut heart... I reckon this is the least fussy heart from the gorgeous Meant to Be stamp set with co-ordinating dies... and so is suitable for cards for the men folk...
And then secondly... with just one person in mind.... yes for the Andrea and Andrew duo....and another card with "the main squeeze" expression from the Lemon Zest set ... though we had to go pink grapefruit for the citrus fruit!
And so... everyone was happy!!
