Something Simple for the Weekend... super CAS Stitched Stars

 

So this card was pretty much created from yesterday's... so I guess I could call this another Scrap Card...

As the Stitched Star was lined up and die cut out of the centre of a 12 cm (4 3/4") square piece of Thick Whisper White card...

Then stuck to a 12.5cm (5") square Gray Granite card...

Swooshed with an embossing buddy...

Greeting (from So Many Stars) stamped in Versamark through the aperture...

White embossing Powder added... and heated to melt...

Finished off simply with a few shiny Gemstones...

Another perfect super - CAS (Clean & Simple) card for any occasion... just change up the greeting!

And here are the 2 cards together...

Stitched Stars

So I thought it high time those 5 little Stitched Stars dies were used...

So here you go... one way to use them...

Each die being lined up with the stitching at each "corner" and stuck down with Low Tack masking tape... die cut...and then the die cut pieces being popped back into the holes...

And 4 of them would be great for corners too...

Finished off with another Stitched Stars die cut, a Christmas Gleaming hand cut greeting and then finally... a silver Designer Element... 

A new series of So Many and Stitched Stars makes...

Back to more So Many and Stitched Stars... a stitched star in in pure "simplest" form... with a simple stamped and hand cut greeting from Christmas Gleaming!

So as I write this post post ... it is Monday... a good 9 days post-op... and a day that I thought I would pretty much healed and back to "almost normal"... but instead I woke up feeling very tired! Pretty much healed and feeling great otherwise... but oh so tired!

So I am taking this as a little body warning and not setting out to do too much for the next week... but my pre-posted blog posts have run out...  which means a few quick and simple creations and shares for a few more days... so please bear with me... although I do know some of you will love these makes!!

Oh and for those of you in the UK... have a safe and wonderful memory making Bonfire Night tonight...

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Plaid

Hello and welcome to the Global Stamping Friends international Blog Hop from Amanda at The Craft Spa in the UK...

Today we are featuring "Plaid"... which is brilliant... apart from the fact that I don't have any of the readily available plaid patterned paper in the Wrapped in Plaid  paper packs.... or in any other (current) paper pack I own!

So what is a girl to do.... well... make my own of course!! Which I have been meaning to do for a very long time...

Ink up and stamp Buffalo Check in Gray Granite....

Followed by Poppy Parade marker pen lines...

Then Basic Black marker lines to finish off...  Note that I went for all my lines first in Poppy Parade... but then decided I wanted another colour after all... so I went over every other Poppy line with Basic Black! You obviously would only do half the Poppy lines in the first place! 

And then the So Many Stars stamps and Stitched Stars dies were out... so I thought... why not! And a few minutes later... here you go...

I also used the new Real Red Glimmer Paper to finish... as I think this is too easy to miss in the Autumn Winter (aka Holidays) catalogue... Though I then wished I had used Real Red in the first place (ilo Poppy Parade)... but you get the idea!

And waste not...want not... no point in wasting that die cut aperture I ended up with - so another "scrap card" for you...

Wednesday WOW!!!! Silvery Stars in Your Eyes... #6

Spot my snipping of that detailed star flourish again for those corners... 2 corners.. so just in half!

Edited to Add:- Thank you so much for all your messages checking how I am! So the op went fine yesterday with no complications... I was back home within 6 hours! And recovery so far so good! I will have to have 1-2 weeks taking it easy (which I will find somewhat difficult!!!) but the bloggio is already organised in advance as they say!!! Fret not!!!!

Oh so simple Stitched Star #3

Carrying on with the So Many Stitched Stars series.... and going even simpler ... and one of the faves in my Stars class!

White embossed stamped star on Gray Granite... Stitched Star die cut around... finished off with a Noble Peacock Pretty Peacock coloured rhinestone at the centre...

Greeting inked up in Gray Granite.... ink on CHRISTMAS WISHES removed using a Blender Pen... then the Pretty Peacock marker pen used to over ink CHRISTMAS WISHES... and then stamped...

All set on a 10.5cm Square (US equivalent 4 1/4" Square) card blank...

So Many Stitched Stars in my Eyes #2

Ok... so the So Many Stars stamps and Stitched Stars dies are officially my favourite Bundle in the Autumn Winter Catalogue... and being honest with you... I wasn't even going to buy them!!!

But as they are so great for all year round use...  and can be used for virtually every occasion... it did seem rather daft not to get them!!!

And I am SO glad I did... This is like a bumper set of dies and stamps... there are so many... and there is so much that you can do with them!!

So the world is your oyster as they say... (or should that read galaxy or cosmos or something!)

So I have a few starry shares over the next few weeks for you... as once I started I couldn't stop!

Colour combination a combination of everyone's favourite colour in these parts (Pretty Peacock) and colours that weren't already out for classes... as I had to squeeze all my star stamps in just one stamping station! So Gray Granite, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Pool Party came to the rescue...

Though I hope to squeeze in some time for some more with other colour combinations now that this weeks classes are out of the way!!

But just keeping it simple for now... this card being a CASE of a CASE of a CASE of a card that I made over 15 years ago (probably with Caroline or Jayne or Debbie) when I first started card making! And one that has never left my mind!! In fact I think the first variant of this was my first hand-made christmas card that I sent out to everyone all those years ago...

But it had to be done... as that stitched aperture for the star is just ... gorgeous!

The "glitter bauble" being just a punched silver glimmer 1" circle popped behind the aperture... Simples!

And you don't get much simpler than this...

But still a little starry stunner...

Finished off with a Flower Faceted Gems... not what I went to get initially ... but I reckon just perfect! 

Oh and note the greetings... both parts are on the one stamp (see top left in image)... so you can use as is... 

Or in halves as I have done here... which I did using a sticky note to cover the parts I didn't want... inked up the parts I did... removed sticky note and stamped ... then a good clean... and repeat for the other half on the inside... 

Though I could easily cut this one in half if the mood takes me another day...
