Happy Valentine's Day...

A Teepee Fold card ( aka 3D Triangle Fold) format and a few variants of heart chocolate shadow-boxes to share this year...

Used Enjoy The Rhythm stamps, retired Everyday Chic papers and a few retired stamps and dies - such as Sweet & Sassy, Playful Alphabet and Word Wishes...

Card open and closed...

Couple of different choclate box lids... fully enclosed in black on top.. and flap style in acetate below... TBH I changed from the acetate as my (none SU!) acetate sheet was too thick for the job... so it would have been difficult for everyone to score in class... as well as being rather destructive to the box frame when opening!

Enjoy The (Valentine) Rhythm Twisted Easel Card

Happy Valentine's Day to you... with a quick share today of something I made earlier especially for the occasion...

I bought these Lindor heart chocolates with Valentine's Day in mind... and had plans to feature them on a lovely multi-sized treat box(es) arrangement... along with a separate card... but time was not on my side... so the card and treat were combined...

And here you go... a simple Twisted Easel Card (aka Diagonal Easel Card) ... very simple... score a square card blank... then score across the diagonal (eg bottom left corner to top right corner) on the top face...

Featuring the lovely new Enjoy The Rhythm stamp set, Perfectly Pencilled papers and the retired A Wish For Everything stamp set and Sweet & Sassy dies

Spot the added features...

- drum kit image cut in half to allow for the Lindor Heart as the main drum...

- Die cut heart added over the cut line before the chocolate... so that the card is still neat after the chocolate is pulled off and wolfed down

- Poppy Parade and Grey Granite Stampin Blends colouring on the drum image and the papers to add a pop of colour...

Fun Fold Friday - For The Record

Just popping on with a quick Pop out Concertina Fold card designed for Valentines Day... using the new and great For The Record stamp set... a keeper for me! Especially as I have a husband that is a real old time "vinyl fan"... yup we are of that era... lol....

Will be back with more details another day... as this is a part of a series of 3 projects or so...
Have to admit that January is proving challenging... busy, busy, busy... though lots in a good way!  But I hope that February comes and calms things down...
Back sometime soon (ish)

Happy Valentines Day - an ape chocolate twist!

I had this idea as soon as I saw the Hey Love ape... and even stamped a couple of apes to experiment... but time rolled on (as it does) and it wasn't until this week when I was packing my son's Valentine box that I finally remembered...
And I reckon it worked... 3D card with a cheeky monkey holding a chocolate heart... though I guess that this ape has been trashed by now... and the chocolate well and truly scoffed!
And a few photos that hopefully say it all... for anyone needing a quick fix to having forgotten so far today!! Just stamp, colour, cut & stick a couple of apes like so.....

More details on the colouring and the card for you here...

Hope you have all had a lovely Valentines Day... and that you have all been spoilt!

Anyone for chocolate? And Happy Valentines Day...

To you and yours...

And here is a little something I sent down to my son at university to let him know that we are thinking about him today... and missing him... as indeed we always are...

Filled with a few chocolate hearts for my young choc-aholic to warm his heart... caramel centred as they are his favourite!
And for you... the 6" square shadow box frame tutorial is here... The front panel is just a 6" x 6 1/2" piece of Thick Whisper White card scored LANDSCAPE (aka 6 1/2" length across the top) at 6" to produce the 6" square front and a 1/2" glue tab for the left hand side...

And I had to laugh... as I thought I didn't have any red papers to use... but that Tutti Frutti paper pack came up as a life saver yet again... the front panel being the cut out left from the inner panel when the centre of the 6" square of paper was cut out at 1" all the way round... aka (1) line up at 1"... (2) cut from 1" to 5"... (3) turn 90 degrees... repeat 1-3... repeat 1-3... & repeat 1-2...
Interestingly.. this is actually my 4th most visited blog post... but by some strange trickery of Blogger... it doesn't even appear on my Top 10 list... no idea why not!

Have to admit that I am still most proud of the shadowbox frame project amongst all of the  projects I have ever designed... as it must be a project that has inspired more project variants world wide than any other over the last 4 years... be it cards, frames, boxes, gift & treats packaging, jewellery presentation... etc etc etc... As we say... Create... Share...Inspire... and so the wonderful creative cycle circles...

But I also have to admit that I was not alone in designing these... months later I chanced upon a Pin of a Shadowbox Frame project display photo taken and uploaded from a Stampin Up On Stage event from a presentation by an Australian demonstrator called Pat Carr ... and strangely (spookily) the date of that event was exactly the same date as I had spent all day with pieces of paper working out how to make one! Shame I hadn't been at the event that day Pat... you would have saved me hours of frustration!
