Project Life - Sale A Bration Memories in the Making speciality card collection

I was asked what the cards look like in the Memories in the Making Project Life speciality card collection that is free (with  every £45 ordered ) in the Sale A Bration promotion...

There is one thing I will first point out... that I didn't see at all at first glance... the gold foiling you see on the acetate cards when you open the pack... is not just gold... but it is silver on the other side...

How cool is that!!  Unless of course you open the pack the other way round... then you will just see silver... and yes... the gold is then on the flip side!!

Now if you are local to me in the Yorkshire area you are always welcome to come and have a look at them in the flesh....

But I happened upon this video by Stampin Up! which shows you nicely if you are not! Click on the picture to go straight to the video...

So enjoy...it only takes a few minutes... And you get to see all the cards, some layout ideas and a useful technique - or two - too

Memory Making Monday - Moments Like These Project Life

Just interrupting my Tin of Cards series for a couple of days to show & tell you about my all-time favourite new Project Life kit... Moments Like These.....
And to give you the opportunity to get your own Craft Spa exclusive Mega Bundle so that you have everything you need to start your own "Scrapbooking the Simple Way - the Project Life Way" journey.
I put this Mega Project Life Bundle together a few weeks back - and it sold really well - but unfortunately a key element was not available until now - so I had to put my general release on hold! But now the Neutrals Paper Stack has landed so I can finally offer my Bundle....
The Mega Bundle is £70 with a free PL class at The Craft Spa if you are local ( North Yorkshire UK)  or free postage if you are not! As an aside...it would cost you £93 if you were to buy a full pack of each of the elements for yourself....
Back tomorrow with more photos and details of these shared PL pages - a few stories to be told as well as a few Tips...

So let's look at the products themselves...

First up... a Stampin' Up! video that shows you all the cards and the accessories included in the Stampin' Up! Moments Like These bundle.... only takes three minutes and well worth a view... click on the following picture of the SU! bundle

There are a few more key things shown below that I use in my Base PL Kit. Click on the photos for full details...

These are essential & should be added if you don't have anything that will do the same job! But if you are a seasoned cardmaker, scrapbooker or Project Lifer... then you will probably have most (or all) of these already....

Tickets 4 ways? A tutorial & Project Life Great Ouseburn Spring Festival

Tickets 3 ways by Amanda Bates at The Craft Spa (4)

Tickets anyone? A quick tip or two for you today…. and a Project Life page too….

Whilst I was crafting away on my last series of Project Life pages…. I had a bit of a ticket theme going on… The  Ticket Duo Builder punch and the That’s The Ticket stamp set were out and in full use!

But then I realised that I had other images/greetings I wanted to use but that did not fit into the 2 ticket sizes in the Punch (which are those to bottom and to right in the image above)… so my brain started thinking…. and here are a couple of other ticket ideas for you….

First up - using the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits dies – cut the frame then re-cut as wide as you need….. love that you can also get a cotton reel using this method!! (see centre)

Tickets 3 ways by Amanda Bates at The Craft Spa (2)

But this one I LOVE!!! And it happened totally by accident…..

I was punching a Tag using my brand new Ornate Tag Topper Punch… the punch wasn’t open properly so the card did not go in all the way to the top – so I ended up with a semicircle notch at the top….

And then the idea dawned on me! So I cut off the rest of my Tag, stuck my card piece on a Post It Note and inserted the other side into the punch – lining up half way across the little circle and punched.

Et voila! A REALLY great ticket shape…. Love it when a punch does something you don’t expect it too…..

So cut a piece of card just 5cm (2”) wide by 2.7cm (1 1/8”) long – but of course you can use any length you need...! Then….

1. Place card piece on a small Post It Note – make sure the sticky side is face up… otherwise it will stick to the punch when you insert it!

2. Insert into punch.

3. Turn punch over so you can see the card piece… Line up about half way across the circular hole…and punch!

4. Pull out the post it note/piece of card…

5. Turn the card piece around the other way and place back on the post it note

Ornate Tag Topper Punch TICKETS (5)

6. Line up as before and punch…

7. Et voila…one ticket with notches either side

Or 3 in a row….

But before I go…a quick one pager Project Life share…. and a plug….

Our village – Great Ouseburn- between York & Harrogate in North Yorkshire - runs a fabulous Spring Festival fundraiser each year… this year it is BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY… 4th MAY 2015.

Project Life by Amanda Bates at The Craft Spa

With some fabulous Open Gardens, Scarecrow Trail, Craft Fair, Plant Stall, Duck Race, Produce stall, Homemade Food Cafés, Barbeque, Pimms Bar & Posh Tombola on the Vicarage Lawn, Ice Creams, Church is Open, Woodland Walk, Nuzzlets animal rescue,  Morgan Car & Vintage Tractor Display, Raffle, Free shuttle bus, Free Parking.

A really lovely day out for all the family…

And this Project Life page is showing some photos from a year that we opened our Garden. I remember that it was one of those strange April days – gloriously sunny for most of the day with a lovely shower at the end – which ruined all my display samples!! You will notice that I sneaked in a Display board or two on the patio! Though I had to giggle at some of the projects on there…I have to admit that my crafting has come on a bit since those days!

But before you ask… no sadly our garden is not open this year…. so we will be busy elsewhere in the village this year…

Project Life by Stampin’ Up! has arrived!

Now I apologise… I am so excited about this range of products it is untrue!! So if I appear to be rambling on…please forgive me!

2014_04_16_blogimage1_projectlife_april1514_all

As you may remember from last month…. Stampin’ Up! announced their new partnership with Becky Higgins and Project Life. Stampin’ UP! will offer a complete Project Life product line in the new annual catalogue, available in Europe beginning 1 July.

But for today… I am excited to let you know that the launch release of some of the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! products is here—starting 10th June !

So without further ado… Here is the range pre-released today….

I have just opened my box of designed pocket cards today… and I am SO HAPPY & can’t wait till I can print out some photos and get started….

I LOVE…

  • that most of the double sided cards can be used portrait or landscape
  • that most of the cards already have a greeting on the one side – but have a blank space on the other side so that I can stamp what I want!
  • that I can choose whether to have square or rounded corners…. and there is a new corner punch released so that the rounding fits in with other Project Life products…
  • the journalling pen is fabulous! I wondered why there were 2 in the pack… but thank goodness…one is in my PL box… the other is in constant use on my catalogue pages, freezer labels… move over Sharpie and all my other permanent pens!!
  • the box is fab…it fits the pre designed pocket cards, the journalling pen & most of the Accessories kit too… neat & tidy… ands definitely grab-able!
  • that the full range centres on things that matter most—weddings, babies, kids, travel - and just those everyday moments of getting together with friends & family —all things that need to be remembered.
  • that the pocket cards can also be used for cards, tags, mini books etc
  • and of course the usual Stampin Up! co-ordination…. I can even design & add my own plain cards and know that they will co-ordinate…easy peasy!

And here is a quick pictorial of this pre-release range …. click on the picture to go  to the Online Store for a larger view…or just to order today!!

Pocket scrapbooking is all the rage! Project Life started this shift in memory keeping and continues to lead the way…This scrapbooking concept has long been my favourite way of documenting my memories so I am over the moon that Stampin’ Up! can now supply… and I cannot wait to get my family life recorded quickly & simply… and to offer classes using the Project Life and Stampin’ Up! range of products….. so you can too! So please contact me now to book in for a Project Life Workshop… I need an excuse to put it right to the VERY top of my To Do list!!!! Instead of it being just for me… which will mean… yes… you guessed it..after cards for my usual workshops!

If you’ve somehow missed the Project Life craze and are wondering what it’s all about, well… in a nutshell…  it’s a super simple, totally affordable way to get your photos into albums. It’s a back-to-basics approach to documenting your life. That suits me!!!

Q. How does it work?
A. It couldn’t be simpler: slip photos, designed pocket cards, mementos, and journalling into an album with Photo Pocket Pages. That alone will give you fabulous results (no scissors or glue required!); if you want to do more you can embellish your photos or cards with Project Life accessory packs or stamps. The accessory packs are designed to coordinate perfectly with the card collections which makes stepping things up super simple.

Q. Who’s it for?
A. We’ve all heard people say scrapbooking takes too much time. You’ve probably had that thought yourself a time or two. That’s why Project Life works so well for all of us. It’s quick and easy and has a fresh approach. And for those who don’t do simple, you can embellish to your heart’s content. So in a nutshell, Project Life is for everyone—the scrapbookologists, the timid, and the skeptical. And most definitely me!!!

Want to explore the Project Life concept more… go to my Pinterest board here…..

Just watch this video from Stampin’ Up and Becky Higgins for extra information on this Project Life range….

And here are some questions & answers from Becky Higgins….

Q: What types of Project Life products will Stampin’ Up! offer?

A: You’ll see Card Collections, Accessory Packs, Albums, Photo Pocket Pages, tools, other accessories, and Stamps, of course!

Q: Are the card designs the same as what we can buy in the stores?

A: Nope! We have worked with Stampin’ Up! to design all new products that are super fun and a perfect match to their existing color lines which will make coordination a breeze. Some of the Photo Pocket Page designs are the same and some are different than what we currently offer.

Q: Are the products packaged the same as existing products (i.e. Core Kits, Mini Kits, etc.)?

A: Most Project Life by Stampin’ Up! products will be sold in Card Collections of 100 cards with 4×6, 4×4, and 3×4 card sizes included. Each card will be printed front + back as all of our current products, but you will not receive duplicates of any cards in the set. Oh – And we’re doing square (not rounded) corners on all of our cards with Stampin’ Up! Yes, there’s an awesome corner rounder punch included in the product line-up if that floats your boat. There will also be Accessory Packs available (sold separately) that will contain a variety of accessories to complement the Card Collection.

Q: Will the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! products be available in digital format?

A: They sure will! In fact the first Stampin’ Up! & Project Life release were digital ones… see here for more information on those….

And if you pop to my Online Site , go into SHOP… and search for Project Life … not only are the digital SU&PL products there but the Photo Templates to use them in are there too…along with many other fabulous Stampin’ Up! pocket card digital products…. Now I have seen them… a lot of those are about to drop into my shopping basket……
