Needlepoint Nook Altered Notebook

Love this altered journal... and again it was so quick & easy to do with the help of such wonderful co-ordinating products...

I don't think the photos will do this justice... as these realistic fabric effect Needlepoint Nook papers just look stunning... especially when teamed with the Daffodil Delight Stitched Ribbon... a true perfect match

Click here to see the whole suite... perfect for the fabric fanciers in your life...
Papers cut and popped into the plastic notebook cover...

Decorated with a Large Letters die cut Balmy Blue B... which I finished off with faux stitching in Balmy Blue...
Note book care of Wilko a while back... as it has been sitting waiting for the right paper... and recipient! Perfect for you Barbara... thanks (again) for joining my team...

And I hope that Wilko still have these notebooks... as now everyone wants one!

Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper
Butterflies also punched out of the papers...  so this was a wonderfully quick altered project! Simples!
Now... as my memory cells are letting me down badly... can anyone tell me where I got this folder from... bear in mind in the UK!

Oh and greeting from the new Sale A Bration, All Adorned stamp set... again yours for free with a £45+ order...

Signs on Sunday Share ... with a Smile!

Couldn't resist sharing these altered sign variants with you today... these colours make me happy!!! Much brighter and merrier... but  Click here for the original version... These use the Twinkle Twinkle papers for the starry sky... which annoyingly I forgot that I had in the class kit when I made the original!! But hey...time has rectified that oversight...

So here we have Caroline, Lisa and Dianne's signs... gorgeous... and we missed you Elaine... but I know you want to see these sooner rather than later!
Again the signs being simple to create once the stamping, die cutting and colouring were all done... using the stamps and dies in Farmhouse ChristmasMerry Christmas to All  and Winter Woods

Making good use of the Festive Farmhouse papers... Twinkle Twinkle papers too... and the Festive Farmhouse embellishments... which were finger daubed with the Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint...

And how is this for a happy smiley face!! This is Dianne who had her first day papercrafting with me last Wednesday... so we had lots of happy faces and ecstatic oohs and aahs too... Definitely makes me love my job!!! And didn't she do well!
So last but not least is Dianne's sign... with the introduction of the Dashing Deer too... and lots and lots of glitter... love it!
And a quick last word about the products I used here... Most of the dies are on the "soon going out of stock "list! So please don't delay if you want the products... just click here to read all about these on yesterday's post...

Farmhouse Christmas Sign on Sunday...

Beginning to share some of my recent makes for my September All Day Christmas Crafts class... some of which will be being made around here in October and November too.... as they are too nice not to be made by my other class ladies too...

But before I start... don't forget that today is the last day of the World Cardmaking Day Sale... just go here to check out the items and order on-line...or click here for more details...
So back to the creative share... Today is an altered sign for Home Decor that we made... simple to create once the stamping, die cutting and colouring were all done... using the stamps and dies in Farmhouse Christmas, Merry Christmas to All  and Winter Woods

Making good use of the Festive Farmhouse papers... and the Festive Farmhouse embellishments... which were finger daubed with the Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint...

Starting off with the "joy"...
Then the little trees to go either side of the door... a favourite little detail!
And 3 little twinkly stars to finish...
Finished off with the lovely new 5/8" Striped Burlap Ribbon...

Just 2 little things I would change (and that I told my girls to change on the day)... I would use Real Red for "christmas" and Mossy Meadow for the "at"

And oh the "at" word is put together using the Brushwork alphabet set...

Anything but a Card for August Jems Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to The Craft Spa...

Wow! 2 blog hops in less than 12 hours...Today we have my regular Monthly Jems Team Blog Hop with a theme of Anything but a Card ...
And last night was my first time hopping with the Global Stamping Friends group with the theme of Cards For The Kids...

So today I have an altered notice board for you.... pretty but also functional in 2 ways! Either with a dry wipe pen as per my sample... or using the Gold Library Clips to pop a card in....

Though I do laugh as we all decided that it was also prettier with the clips too!!!
So we used a large 6x4 text card from the Petal Garden Making Memories card pack... plus a piece of the co-ordinating Petal Garden paper stack...

Decorative Ribbon Punched borders with Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Stitched Edge Ribbon trim. And I have to say that it is SO great to have a nice border punch again... seems like a while...

Finished off with a fussy cut rose and rosebud from another card from the pack....
And the icing on the cake to make it all dry wipe functional... just a piece of Window Sheet (acetate) cut to size.... the lines between the days/grid being perfect to hide the thin sticky tape we used... love that Stampin' Up! provide us with 12x12 acetate... my old A4 sheets would not have done the job....

So there you have it... this will proudly adorn my craft den walls... and it will be well used to plan my creative week....
And this is what it looked like before... you have to love Home Bargains for great pieces to alter!!!
So it is time to pass you on... Today's is a small group to hop around as so many of us are on holidays... and yesterday's was a much larger group! Hope you come back and get to do both hops... I do particularly love my projects posted last night!

How long is a piece of string? And a Crafty Storage idea...

Dunno... but we had some fun making "string in a tin" from some (hoarded) empty coffee tins...

All thanks to Andrea... who came up with an idea for a "nice string in a tin" project when I asked what they would like to make for their menfolk other than cards... a titter went round the room... I pulled a face... and we all thought nothing more of it...
But later that day... a grin appeared on my face... as I realised what all those coffee tins I had been collecting for years could be used for!!! All it took was a spare piece of 12x12 (the now sold-out Urban Underground in this case, a bit of washi (again Urban Underground) and a piercing tool  to make the hole (s) in the lid(still got my long reach Crop A Dile - so easy for us on the day) ....

And there were no "titters" when presented at class!!! They all made them... proudly shared them... or even gave as presents (and weeks till Fathers Day yet!!!)... and now I have been asked to save more coffee tins!! Luckily Heidi - I have just found a new collection in a new place... so your wish is my command!!!
And for us crafters... punch/pierce multiple holes and pop 3 (maybe 4?) Bakers Twine on a reel in there... another crafty storage solution solved... so I for one will be making a few as an easier - and much prettier- way to store my Bakers Twines... with a new set of papers of course! So watch this space....

And as a final point... there are so many "string" expressions in our world... I chose "World on a String" as my excuse to use the retiring Places You'll Go set for one last time (oh now sold out!) as well as Urban District (retiring but still available in both clear mount and wood)... Along with the carrying over Labeler Alphabet for the wording....
Oh and thank you to Lavazza, Kenco and Nescafe for the tins!
