Sunday Suite - Fine Art Floral

Introducing the Fine Art Floral Suite... consisting of Art Gallery bundle, Fine Art Floral papers, the must have Heat & Stick powder with Gold Gilded Leafing .. and other co-ordinating products... 

Now this is the suite that has caused the biggest buzz amongst my ladies... But in a "Marmite" sort of a way! They either absolutely LOVE it... or they really don't!! How about you?

I am a game of 2 halves... I love and don't like an equal amount of parts! 

For me most of the Fine Art Floral papers are too busy and with too many colours "at a time" for my liking...  Click here for the sheet by sheet paper pack shot...

Though I love it when the Golden Garden acetate is overlaid on top... as it breaks things up just enough... making a bit of perfection... 2 of these can be laid over

And I LOVE that Heat & Stick powder is back... can't tell you how much I have missed this wonderful product in my crafting... and the Gilded Leafing is amazing too!

Think the Art Gallery stamps is a fantastic all round greeting set... as well as having fabulous flowers and leaves... The gold overlay using the Gilding Flakes is an amazing feature...

And I love love love the Just Want to Say expression in the set of Floral Gallery dies...

Think the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder will be very effective... though this is one I need to see before purchase... so if anyone would like to send me a close up picture I'd appreciate it!

And finishing off with some more lovely natural 3/8" Ribbon...

Anything but a Card for August Jems Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to The Craft Spa...

Wow! 2 blog hops in less than 12 hours...Today we have my regular Monthly Jems Team Blog Hop with a theme of Anything but a Card ...

And last night was my first time hopping with the Global Stamping Friends group with the theme of Cards For The Kids...

So today I have an altered notice board for you.... pretty but also functional in 2 ways! Either with a dry wipe pen as per my sample... or using the Gold Library Clips to pop a card in....

Though I do laugh as we all decided that it was also prettier with the clips too!!!

So we used a large 6x4 text card from the Petal Garden Making Memories card pack... plus a piece of the co-ordinating Petal Garden paper stack...

Decorative Ribbon Punched borders with Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Stitched Edge Ribbon trim. And I have to say that it is SO great to have a nice border punch again... seems like a while...

Finished off with a fussy cut rose and rosebud from another card from the pack....

And the icing on the cake to make it all dry wipe functional... just a piece of Window Sheet (acetate) cut to size.... the lines between the days/grid being perfect to hide the thin sticky tape we used... love that Stampin' Up! provide us with 12x12 acetate... my old A4 sheets would not have done the job....

So there you have it... this will proudly adorn my craft den walls... and it will be well used to plan my creative week....

Memories & More Petal Garden Garden Bench #3

Onto Day 3 of my series of greeting cards made from a Memories and More card pack series....

Oh I couldn't believe how well 2 of the cards from the Memories & More Petal Garden card pack could be simply cut to produce this little scene on a re-sized U Fold card... (original sized U Fold version tutorial shared here)

Bench seat created using the Wood Crate dies and Window Sheets... greetings from Happy Birthday Gorgeous and little heart from Bookcase Builder

All finished off with roses fussy cut from the Petal Garden papers... though small flowers could be just as easily stamped to avoid the fussy cutting if that isn't your thing!!!

Santa's Sleigh in the Sky...

Special card made for my All Day events this week... 8 reindeer flying into the sky pulling Santa's Sleigh...

Now I have to admit that the reindeer pulling a sleigh on a Double Z Fold card was not my original idea... I was completely inspired when I saw this stunning card shared by Kathy Wayson back in August. So I immediately put the Santa's Sleigh stamps and dies on my next order...

And I was definitely not alone in adoring this card... as many other Stampin' Up! demonstrators have been inspired to make their own version... so there are many beautiful Santa's Sleigh Double Z Fold cards out there if you Google it.... or search on Pinterest...

But I had a few other ideas of my own!

I knew I had to make the reindeer fly up into the air! So it had to be a Large Square Double Z Fold Card and my Staircase Double Z Fold card method ending up coming into its own for a second time! See points 4-11 for the acetate part - you need a 6.2cm A4 piece of acetate scored at 14.8 & 7.4cm  and note that you need to line up at 2.5cm to the LHS in point 6 as the fold stands the other way round - or 3" x 11" for US measurements - scored at 2 3/4" & 5 1/2" - lined up at 1" to the LHS) 

I had to have the full compliment of 8... as in "On Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancer and Vixen, On Comet, on Cupid, on Donner and Blitzen!" Quickly achieved by turning the Double Z Fold card in the opposite direction to the usual... Though I have now thought of a way to add Rudolph at the front too... Maybe another day!

And I was definitely using my favourite Fancy Frost papers to create a snowy little scene as the background...

And the trees had to be stamped on the Presents & Pinecones Mint Macaron paper as I had stocked up on that already!

So there you have it... a card that has been causing a real WOW in the flesh... thank you Kathy Wayson for inspiring us all....
