Ties, Tardis & Golf Cards for Fathers Day or Birthday…..

Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa, May 2013, Mens & Boys Class (11)

No not all on the one card…!!! At the last class I ran… I gave my ladies a number of options for some of the Men & Boys cards they were making… so one card format but different looks – and to suit different tastes/ages.

So they could choose from the Best Dad Ever Ties, the Punched Golfer and … last but not least, the Tardis….

And see the Faux stitching on the Ties & Golf cards… not Amanda and her marker this time….much much easier!!!! It is part of the In Stitches Stampin Around Wheel  – which I have since mutilated!!! See more details shared here… but I cut off the wheel rubber, mounted on clear mount cling foam , cut off the separate lines of stitches & mounted them on a clear ruler (I have now bought a few cheapy rulers – which I just cut down with a craft knife to about 7 1/2” – perfect!! And they fit in the Clear Mount stamp cases – so perfect for storage too…..) Will admit though… these thin stitches are better inked up with a marker pen rather than an inkpad……..

Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa, May 2013, Mens & Boys Class - Golfer (2)

And last but not least … the Tardis in Space card…. the police box image is from the … now not available…. Feeling Sentimental stamp set which was an exclusive stamp set under the January to March Sale A Bration promotion earlier this year… so sorry for sharing this too late!! And this time I left my wheel alone……

Football shirt card

Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa, May 2013, Mens & Boys Class, Worlds Greatest Football Fan Card

Staying on the theme of cards for Men & Boys….. a really simple football shirt card this time.

This card was inspired by a Suit Card swap from Kylie at the last Jems Quarterly Team Training which is pictured below…. it is actually the same shirt collar… just with the double sided paper turned round the other way!!

Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa, May 2013, Mens & Boys Class (14)

I loved Kylies card… (which I think she knew by all my exclamations at the time!!!)

But.. even so..  I have to admit to adding a few details to Kylies’ wonderful & perfect as it was card…. just a change to the wording and some faux stitching around the pocket & jacket collar… me and my marker pen!! You can’t stop me….  Do wish I had manage to stamp the “Ever” word central on the pocket though!!!

Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa, May 2013, Mens & Boys Class (15)

And for those of you wondering how to do the shirt collar….. here is a link to a version of the suit card as shared by the very talented Jackie Topa back in 2008…

X Box controller card for the boys!

Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa, May 2013, Mens & Boys Class , X Box Controller (2)

A bit different to the Dapper Dad shares recently…. here is one more suitable for my son and friends…..

The unmistakable shape of the card was just produced by borrowing my son’s controller and drawing round it!! And virtually everything else was down to my trusty circle punches…. with a bit of daubing around the edges – and a hand drawn X. The left and right arrows are the tiny pennants in the Itty Bitties stamp set – perfect for the job!

SU! Supplies

Stamps – A Fitting Occasion; Itty Bitty Alphabet; Word Play; Memorable Moments; Itty Bitties

Circle Punches – 3/8”; 1/2”; 3/4”; 1”; 1 1/4”

Last of the Dapper Dad Cards..….

2013_03_Amanda Bates at The Craft Spa,UK Stampin Up demonstrator, Dapper DadBow Tie 3D (3)

I think you can probably tell which is my favourite image from the three in the the Dapper Dad stamp set ....yup ... you guessed it ... it’s the bow tie....

A fairly straightforward card but with quite a bit of detail added.

The Stripes embossing folder for the centre panel of the shirt.

The main body of the shirt is embossed using the Square Lattice embossing folder which always adds the perfect detail for material.

Faux stitching around the shirt collar and panel using a Crumb Cake marker pen.

And last but not least... the stamped and 3/8” circle punched buttons down the centre of the shirt.

Clean & Simple Dapper Dad Watch Man’s Card

2013_03_Amanda Bates at The Craft Spa,UK Stampin Up demonstrator, Dapper Dad Watch (1)

Another clean & simple card using the Dapper Dad stamp set with the Parkers Patterns papers. Think there is just one more Dapper Dad card to share after this one!! We did these in a class back in March and again I thought it was about time I got round to sharing them.

This one uses the watch image with a soda pop top which was crushed through the Big Shot just to add a little detail around the watch face.  I also tried filling in the watch face with Crystal Effects but the ink ran badly so... don't try that one at home!

But I have to admit that I now prefer the watch detailed using the Silver Basics Designer button and brad as shown on yesterday's post.... Though the pop top version maybe better for a ladies watch… What do you think??

SU! Supplies

Stamps – Dapper Dad; Sassy Salutations

Papers – Parkers Patterns

Cardstock – Naturals Ivory; Not Quite Navy; Baja Breeze; Marina Mist

Ink – Not Quite Navy

Embellishments – Soda Pop Top

Just a quick share today. I have rather a lot of Mens cards I want to share in the next week ……

Here is another Mans card we made in class back in March using the Dapper Dad stamp set – the brogue shoe this time…. The shoe is stamped on 2 cardstock colours then a bit of cutting and sticking… then voila!

I love the layout of this card for a Mans card….. which was CASED from this card by Miss Minx on SplitcoastStampers.

But I will have to let you into 2 secrets!!! ….

The papers…. well, they just aren’t me… I was desperate to remake with different papers….. but the menfolk that have had this card so far….. they really love them!! So what do I know!!!

I will be so sorry when Not Quite Navy cardstock is no longer available at the end of June…. it has become my go-to colour for Men….

Papers – Parkers Patterns

Cardstock – Not Quite Navy, Naturals Ivory
