Happy Fathers Day to the Worlds Greatest Dad or Father… and a Tip for Builder Wheels!

Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa, Worlds Greatest Dad, Father, Male 003

Following on from the Teen Boy birthday card posted yesterday, here are a couple of cards suitable for Fathers Day or for a Male Birthday for that matter….

This time I have used Not Quite Navy, Lucky Limeade with a hint of Baja Breeze – sadly… all these colours are retiring at the end of June so don’t forget to stock up on card and inks if they are your favourites….. There is also some Basic Grey – but that is not retiring!

The Happy Fathers Day wording is from the Best Dad Ever stamp set ( you know… the one with the 5 ties in a row) – I didn’t realise I had the wording in a long thin format that I needed…. and then suddenly there was a light-bulb moment!!!!

The background script matches the Morning Post Alphabet that I have used for the letters…. using the Travel Journal builder wheel. Though mine doesn’t look like a wheel any more… just a long thin clear mount stamp….

I have to admit that although I love my wheels…. I struggle with the narrow builder wheels when I want to use them on their own…. so necessity being the mother of invention…. I quickly whipped the rubber of the wheel ( and quick is quick… it took about 2 seconds!!) and stuck the rubber on the clear mount foam that SU! stock and cut out my new long thin stamp…. eh voila… The next problem being that the stamp is too long for the longest clear mount block… so more head scratching….. and sorted… I stuck it on my trusty clear acetate 12” ruler… perfect!! Now if anyone knows where to get 8” clear rulers… please do tell… they would be the business   - as I could have each of my new clear mount “wheel stamps” on a ruler each…. ready to go!!

Here is an alternative card for Father….. using the Distressed Dots background stamp ( a new love me thinks!!!)  and Whisper White craft ink  - along with the Father word from the Amazing Family stamp set.  I have used my blender pen to colour in the FATHER wording… just going over the just-stamped image with the blender pen… there was enough ink to give the colour lift  I neededAmanda Bates, The Craft Spa, Worlds Greatest Dad, Father, Male 013.
