Watercolor Wishes Kit & THE Retiring List

I thought it was about time I used one of the Stampin' Up! card kits... and I am so glad I did... as I can highly recommend this kit.... this Watercolor Wishes kit is super value... it makes a lovely selection of 20 cards... nice easy few hours making a great selection of cards... and it is a great make at home OR gift option as everything you need is in the box... but more on all that later...

But before I start sharing all the cards... please do not forget that the Retiring List posts at 8pm UK time this Monday night, 10th April... There will be reduced items... Well 19 to be precise... as one was kept by a new friend at a new crafty club I go to who made one and gave it to her mother for Mother's Day... and the feedback... well her Mum cried! Shame I didn't think to take a quick photo at the time...as the daughter was very happy with her make too!

Aw... the power of a handmade card... after 14 years of doing this... I definitely sometimes forget that!

So what is in the kit... everything you need to complete all 20 cards... including the fabulous greeting stamps which are yours for ever...and even a Tombow All Purpose glue (not mentioned as included!) in my box... The only extra thing I would recommend (though certainly not essential) are some Glue Dots too... makes life a lot easier to stick the embellishments...

Jems Monthly Blog Hop

Introducing a new monthly feature for you... a monthly Blog Hop. These will be every first Saturday of the month... and will carry a specific theme for each hop... Carry on around the hop by pressing on the NEXT or BACK buttons at the bottom of the post depending on whether you want to go forwards or backwards! Your choice...

Either way there are many fantastic projects shown by my fellow team hoppers... the Jems are a talented bunch so you won't be disappointed...

So... for our first hop... we are featuring Retiring Products... not long to be able to purchase these... just till 31st May. I have made the card for my son's birthday tomorrow - no guesses as to his age! Hope he likes it as I have strayed a long way from the annual Real Red card.....

This is a Large Square Double Display Card from 12x12 card - metric tutorial here, imperial (inches) here... I cannot believe how easy one of these cards is with these papers - not a lot of prepping or decoration required as the paper(card) is so stiff in itself.... yippee!

And spot the details...
Cucumber Crush panel looks more like leather care of stamped off Cucumber Crush ink & You've Got This background stamp... the silver embossing making it all pop...

Silver Glimmer Large Numbers popped onto Cucumber Crush ones to add more definition...

Really pleased with this card... especially as so out of my usual comfort box with colours... It is just so quick for a card that gives such a WOW... even I will be buying some stock of these papers... as I am always running out of teen cards... and I reckon this will also look fabulous in Bermuda Bay and Watermelon Wonder!! And the embossed silver sides will look fabulous too...

Obviously somewhat less layers of card & paper to cut than the original. The only other difference in the detail being the front central square mats - silver foil 10.5cm, cucumber crush 10cm so as to fit the Congratulations image...

From now on Stampin' Up! will provide us with a list of the stamps that will retire from the Seasonal Catalogues as well as the Annual Catalogue - so this is a first... 

Stampin' Up! says... We’re saying goodbye to retiring products from the autumn/winter catalogue; but before we do, we’re giving everyone an opportunity to order their favourites. Retiring products will only be available until 4 January, or while supplies last...
