Sheltering Tree Large Square Double Display Card by Sam Wilson

 clip_image002

Oh do I have another treat to share with you today!!

 clip_image002[4]

My friend and fellow uber-talented demonstrator, Sam Wilson has been making my Large Square Double Display cards again…. this time for a special girl’s 21st card.

Isn’t this just STUNNING… I am sure that you will agree  - and I will be sure to pass any of your comments straight onto Sam….

Thank you for letting me share here Sam…definitely too good not to share!

Sam has used Sheltering Tree on the outside and Something Lacy on the inside – with a butterfly from Butterfly Basics.Oh…and to save you looking… the tutorials to the Large Square Double Display Card are here… Imperial. Metric. And she has been busy with the Crystal Effects on the letters and colouring Shimmer card for the numbers….

And for those of you that asked and are waiting…. the tutorial for the A4 cardstock version of this card will be posted fairly soon… I haven’t forgotten!

Something Lacy Silver Clay Pendant

Something Lacy, Silver Clay Pendant, Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa 012

So this is what I made on Tuesday. Now folks… this is what you could call serious kissing using a rubber stamp!! 99% silvers’ worth!

For years I have wanted to take a rubber stamp and go and make a silver clay pendant with it! After seriously hinting for 2 years worth of Christmas and birthday presents… in December I gave up and booked myself on a Silver Clay Pendant course…

So now I have…! And here is my make…  difficult to get a great photo though!

Of course, Something Lacy had to travel with me…well that stamp is too good not to share! And now I will for eternity! And I cannot believe how much detail comes off that stamp…

And I had such a fabulous morning. True crafting therapy for me!  After 6 years of running workshops for cardmaking, packaging and scrapbooking for others - I cannot tell you how lovely it was to be a true crafting beginner again, to sit at a workshop and be instructed – to make and learn something new and and to come away with something so beautiful. Thanks to Helen Drye at Silver & Stone Jewellery in Riccall, York for such a fabulous workshop.

And of course I had the perfect box (already made and shared here) to pop it into…. though this pendant will be around my neck…not in a gift box!

And now I have realised how much of my stash can be used for Silver Clay work… think there may be a little clay purchase coming along soon….. though I think it may be a little silver and a lot more of bronze! Well I have to have pure crafty play time…. lots of ideas already!!

Although first I will use some of my newly learnt techniques with our Stampin’ Up! Simply Pressed clay – and moulds. Luckily no fire involved with this clay… I am sure the new techniques will prove useful…. watch this space!

Last Kissing with Groovy Love card in the series….

Groovy Love, made by Amanda Bates at The Craft Spa 082

Bet you thought it would never end…. the series ends with the simplest card of them all… Just had to show you the wonderful new Sahara Sand Lace trim… love it … just waiting for my second reel to turn up!

I have to laugh at myself though… as the plan was to make about 6-8 cards using Groovy Love… but then Something Lacy & the kissing technique came along… and I think I have ended up making over 20 cards with the hearts….. maybe I am beginning to have a place for hearts in my crafting after all!! And I am pleased to add that my I have some very happy ladies who purchased the Groovy Love set as part of their January class kit (whether for here at home or away at theirs… ) – they now have loads of ideas to create with their new stamp set & punch…. Enjoy!

Even more Kissing with a Twist using Something Lacy and Larger Than Life Alphabet

Groovy Love, made by Amanda Bates at The Craft Spa 070

When I swapped my card at Team Training… we had various discussions about stamping up words and peoples names – so here you go…. These are both DL cards…

First of all we have love…. I did mean to put the word KISSES under the heart…but then I couldn’t find a stamp! Colourway is Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette & Rose Red

More Kissing with A Twist– Highlighted Kissing

Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa, Groovy Love, Valentine 035

Quick post today seeing as I did two yesterday! But don’t forget the fabulous deals on Big Shot Magnetic Platform and various dies this week! Don’t miss out!!

Another sample  from the Team Training Inspiration Table  - showcasing the Highlighted Kissing Technique.

Along with the gorgeous newly released Something Lacy background stamp. Wording from the Sale A Bration Simply Wonderful stamp set. And my favorite Larger Than Life alphabet set…

This was also my swap card…although I didn’t do the background gel pen highlighting…. thought a bit of homework would be nice!

Edited to add 17 Feb: and here it is with an alternative version using the white highlighting and marker pen colouring too (Soft Sky, Pool Party & Lost Lagoon markers) Amazing how different they look in the flesh…

Another Wedding Double Display Card

Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa, Groovy Love, Valentine 036

Now this was the Wedding card I originally designed for my January classes…. but when I came to prep… my cupboard proved bare… no more 12x12 Sahara Sand cardstock …. so hence the quick new version and a Double Display card from our A4 card.

Have to point out …that this version is as the very original version … ie no Square added to the front… just worked that way with the wording I used…. I am so loving the new Big on You stamp set….

Large Square Double Display Wedding Card– and Kissing with a Twist!

Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa, Groovy Love, Valentine 015

Staying on my Groovy Love projects for now…. here is a card that combines a number of my current favourite products and techniques… so you will get to see more of these products/techniques over the coming weeks!

(1) Large Square Double Display card…. Say no more! Link to the 12”cardstock tutorials here. Imperial version . Metric version.
But wait… I used A4 card as I had run out of 12x12 in Sahara Sand… yes I worked out a new version to suit our A4 card……

(2) Something Lacy background stamp set… beautiful!

(3) Something Borrowed embellishments. Just gorgeous… a  real WOW to any project…

(4) Something Borrowed papers – right up my colour street!

(5) Sahara Sand, Whisper White and Lost Lagoon colour combination – yum!

And last but very definitely not least….

(6)   THE KISSING TECHNIQUE…. This was one of the first techniques I learnt when I signed up with Stampin’ Up! nearly 7 years ago! And I am happy to bring it back to my crafting space…. and I am surprised at how many people didn’t know about it….so I would like to introduce it or bring it back to yours too!!

See the &heart image in the centre… that is a perfect solid stamp for the technique – coupled with the beautiful Something Lacy stamp set… If you don’t know about the Kissing Technique – just go here for a simple explanation.

But I added a simple twist…. just highlighting some flowers in white with my trusty gel pen and colouring in the leaves with a Lost Lagoon marker pen. Suddenly it all pops…. so what shall I call it….. Kiss & Pop Technique? Highlighted Kissing Technique? Kolour Kiss? Any other suggestions welcome…

Something old, something new, something borrowed & something blue

Something Old, New, Borrowed & Blue - Something Lacy by Amanda Bates at The Craft Spa, (1)

But this blog post has nothing to do with weddings…

So really I should have said …hi Something Lacy. This is a new background stamp in the new Spring & Summer catalogue just released ( see Page 43). And it is definitely a favourite of mine…. LOVE LOVE LOVE. SO I had to quickly share…. then I will go back to plotting my SAB Clubs & Spring Summer Catalogue product shares. More on those very soon…..

But I thought I would do something a bit different to the normal white background… so it is stamped in Memento Black on Sahara Sand…with colouring of accents of blues (Soft Sky, Pool Party & Lost Lagoon), greys (Smoky Slate, Basic Grey) , browns (Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake) & a dash of white gel pen thrown in to highlight….

Something Old, New, Borrowed & Blue - Something Lacy by Amanda Bates at The Craft Spa, (3)

For the hi… I used my old Larger Than Life alphabet (an all time favourite!) – inked up the letters in Sahara Sand then “kissed” the letters on the Something Lacy stamp inked up with Memento Black – so as to borrow the ink! And then I stamped onto the Sahara Sand panel. Colouring done the same way as on the main panel

Something Old, New, Borrowed & Blue - Something Lacy by Amanda Bates at The Craft Spa, (4)

A bit more of the blues -  Lost Lagoon ribbon and matting onto Soft Sky then Lost Lagoon – and there you have it. Something Lacy with Something old, something new, something borrowed & something blue…..

I am not sure that the photo does the card justice.. but I am sure that you will get the idea….
