Needlepoint Nook Fun Fold Friday

Change just one colour and this Double Z Joy Fold card changes a lot!!

But before I start... just sayin!!
So I had a remake of this card to do as unfortunately I had to postpone a class last week and one of my lovely ladies, Sarah couldn't make the new date this week...

And Mother's Day is this Sunday in the UK... so time was of the essence!!
But I happen to know that yellow is Sarah's most hated colour... so a re-think was required... and this is the result...

Doesn't that look so much cooler (as in cold!!!) and only the card blank, a few flowers and a "happy" changed...
Though I will laugh if Sarah's mum's favourite colour happens to be yellow!!
Rest of the card details and Double Z Joy Fold card Tutorial on this post here...

PS Which one do you prefer??? I have to admit that (unusually as I do like my white!!!) the yellow version does it more for me...

Stitched Rectangles Double Z Joy Fold Card Tutorial for Fancy Fold Friday

Wow! First of all... I have been so excited ... and chuffed... that so many of you were patiently waiting for these tutorials and that they have inspired you to get creating so quickly...

Thank you so much for all your comments, emails and feedback over the past week...  you have duly inspired me to try some thing(s) a bit different for my blog ... I hope you will all like it!! As I thoroughly enjoyed creating 3 similar but different cards... each one being a step up on the previous... so I can see a few series of these...
And so now I bring you the last one of the Trio... the Double Z Joy Fold Card... sized specifically for the Stitched Rectangles... If you want to make the standard A6 card size then click here- or click here for the US A2 card size...

And if you want tutorials for other versions & sizes of Double Z Joy Fold Cards ... then use the Search box (down the right hand side)... and enjoy! I certainly have since I designed the card in the first place... all those years ago... so there are lots of variants on the theme...
Craft Spa Recipe
Please note that the US (inches) version is just converted literally from the Rest of the World (metric)
A4 Crushed Curry 21 x 14cm (8 1/4" x 5 1/2")
A4 Poppy Parade 16.5 x 9.5cm (6 1/2" x 3 3/4")
Paper Left Front 4.7 x 13.5cm (1 13/16" x 5 1/4")
Paper Right Back 10 x 13.5cm (3 7/8" x 5 1/4")
Paper Inside Centre 4.7 x 9cm (1 13/16" x 3 1/2")
Card Inside Right A4 Whisper White 4.7 x 9cm (1 13/16" x 3 1/2")
(D) A4 Thick Whisper White 6 x 9.5cm (2 1/2 x 3 7/8")
(D) Scraps Old Olive, Poppy Parade, Crushed Curry where (D) is for die cutting
Inks - Crushed Curry, Poppy Parade

Craft Spa Directions
1. Score Crushed Curry LANDSCAPE panel at 5.25 & 10.5cm (2 1/16" & 4 1/8")
2. Z Bone Fold. Valley for halfway/centre... Peak for quarter-way
3. Score Poppy Parade LANDSCAPE panel at 5.25 & 10.5 cm (2 1/16" & 4 1/8")
4. Z Bone Fold. Peak halfway-ish (front) fold... Valley for Quarter-ish (back) fold
5. Adhere papers

Now to sticking the two Z Fold parts. Think about what needs to go where!!! Otherwise you will just stick your whole card together and it won't open after all!! Suggest a dry run with no glue the first time... then it should all become obvious... So...

6. Open out the main card blank... and close up the smaller Z Fold part
7. Apply glue to back face of smaller Z Fold & make sure it is still closed!
8. Adhere back face of smaller Z Fold onto back/right hand face of main card (Note - you are eyeballing/centring the slightly larger front face of the smaller Z Fold onto the back face of the main card

9. Close up main Z Fold card blank
10. Adhere front part of smaller Z Fold onto left of main card front (think about where NOT to put your glue!?)

11. Die cut one Stitched Rectangle... and then die cut the stitched flowers flourish
12. Decorate as desired...
Tips...
(a) Die cut happy in Crushed Curry and Poppy Parade. Stick Crushed Curry on top of Poppy Parade... slightly offset...
(b) Mothers Day label hand cut
(c) Mini Buttons added to front left small flowers to finish

High Tide... and an Epic Day!

Quickly sharing another Double Z Joy Fold Card that fully opens! Tutorial shared here yesterday...

But not a lot to say about the card today... apart from I used the lovely High Tide stamp set... and the fabulous Serene Scenery papers ( and a bit of brayering, sponging and stamping through a circular aperture.... ) as I want to share something personal for a BIG change!
Epic day today.... last "normal" school run!! Obviously there is all the stress of the A level exams to come throughout June... and the huge priority around getting son in and back for those exams at different hours... as we live in the country so the bus service just doesn't work!
But after 11 years of doing an hour plus round trip at the beginning and end of the day  - for 6 days a week - as a school run... I have felt an enormous sense of relief coming over me for the last week... so feeling quite euphoric today!

So I just had to share!! End of an era!!! Who knows what the next phase will deliver.... I will probably start worrying about that tomorrow!!
So to celebrate ... think I might have a New Catalogue Special coming on this weekend!
