So a few of the eagle-eyed amongst you asked about the cards I shared in my Craft Spa at Home Kit post yesterday... and then I realised that I hadn't actually shared most of these...

So first up... some more of my 3 in 1 Z Fold cards....which were made to go out with the new catalogues I posted last week... click here for the Tutorial...

And second up... some more of my small (A7) sized Pop Out Swing cards... just because they are a nice way to show the different papers off... and the use of the fussy cut flowers from the papers themselves... Click here for the Tutorial...

Pinks Petal Passion Pop out Swing card

Another version of the wee little A7 Pop Out Swing card for which the Tutorial was shared here...

So just more colour added to the Petal Passion papers & extra Lots of Happy flowers...

A7 Pop Out Swing Card with Tutorial aka The Small, Wee One!!

Definitely a card on the cute scale in the flesh!! Proving that small can be so beautiful!!

And seeing as it is Fancy Fold Friday... here's a tutorial for you...

And sorry to my US followers as this is very specific to rest-of-the-world A4 card/C7 envelopes and centimetres measurements... as preciseness is key... I will try to convert for a sensible card from US Letter cardstock/envelope... but in the meantime can anyone tell me the size for a standard US envelope about half your A2 size!?

Card Blank - Thick Whisper White -14.8 x 10.5cm  (5 7/8" x 4 1/8")
Inner Panel - Thin Whisper White- 10.8 x 10.1cm
Tabs - Thin Whisper White- 7.2 x 1.3cm (x2)

Paper Front 7cm x 4" (10.1cm)
Paper In-Sides 3.2 x 9.7cm (x2)

(D) Basic Black Card 5cm x 6cm  
(St) White Card 4.5cm x 10cm pp
where (D) is for die- cutting and (St) is for stamping & punching and pp is per person

Tutorial

1. Place larger (Card Blank/14.8cm L) cardstock panel LANDSCAPE onto trimmer
2. Score at 7.4cm
3. Bone fold (valley)
   
   
4. Place smaller (Inner Panel /10.8cm L) cardstock panel LANDSCAPE onto trimmer
5. Score at 3.6 & 7.2cm
6. Z Bone fold (mountain/valley)
   
   
7. Place smallest (Tabs/7.2cm L) cardstock LANDSCAPE onto trimmer (x2)
8. Score at 3.6cm (x2)
9. Bone fold (mountain) (x2)
   
   
10. Decorate all panels.... 
11. Die cut front of Card Blank (Tip for easier/straighter cutting...
    I used a piece of Grid Paper and marked out a 3.7cm line (ie half of the 7.4cm width) to aid the eye... this was temporarily stuck onto the underside of my thin (Metallic die) plate so everyone could use it all the classes... worked like a charm!
12. Die cut Basic Black Lots of Labels frame
    
    
13. Stamp greeting AND Everyday Label Punch 
14.  Faux Stitch using thin end of your Basic Black Stampin Marker (Tip- just draw 3 stitches at a time- easier and faster - and neater too!!
    
    NOTE - this Tutorial assumes that you have already created a Pop Out Swing card and so know how to stick the parts & Tabs in ...  but if not... then please visit this Tutorial here for further pictorial instruction...  points 7-17
    
15. Adhere Z folded Inner Panel to RHS of open card blank (note: valley fold of Z Fold panel to LHS when stuck )
16. Fold over front of Card Blank. (with Z folded panel folded)
17.  Apply glue through aperture onto top of Z fold panel (ie to RHS of aperture) 
18. Adhere Basic Black Label frame
    
    
19. Open up Card blank. Open out Z folded panel to the right.
20. Adhere 2 Tabs to top and bottom (fold to outside)
21. Open up Z fold section with Tabs out to left, apply glue on top of Tabs and fold Card Blank onto the glued Tabs
    
    
22. Adhere all other parts... 
    

Double Pop Out Swing Card Tutorial.... for Fancy Fold Friday...

Long awaited post today for some of you... as today brings the Tutorial for the Double Pop Out Swing card... I think I have had more messages about this one than any other card I have ever created...

But before I start... announcement... the Retiring List publishes next Monday, 9th April at 8 or 9pm UK time (actually says 8pm GMT but we are on BST hours now!! So it might be 9pm!!) Tutorial

1. Place larger (A4L) Card Blank cardstock LANDSCAPE onto trimmer
2. Score at 7.4cm
3. Turn 180 degrees
4. Score at 7.4cm
5. Valley bone fold to meet in centre...
   
6. Place smaller (21.8cm L) Inner Panel cardstock LANDSCAPE onto trimmer
7. Score at 3.6, 7.2, 14.6, 18.2cm
8. Bone fold Mountain/Valley/Valley Mountain
   
9. Place smallest Tabs cardstock LANDSCAPE onto trimmer
10. Score at 3.6cm
11. Place it PORTRAIT on trimmer
12. Cut into 4 x 1cm wide tab pieces
13. Mountain bone fold the 4 tabs
    
14. Decorate all panels.... Note that the OPTIONAL Inner LHS & RHS outer panels can only be done when using thinner papers such as these Petal Passion papers... the Springtime Foils (as used on this version) makes it too thick for the die to cut through the resultant 3 layers... and it is very difficult to cut a separate piece of paper in exactly the right position!! (but not impossible!!)
    
15. Die cut front sides of Card Blank (Tip for easier/straighter cutting... 16. Die cut 3 frames (White in this card/Smoky Slate in the Springtime Foils card)
17. Stamp, silver emboss letters & frames AND Everyday Label Punch as necessary (none in this card but is on the Springtime Foils version)
    
18. Adhere centre of Inner Panel to back Card Blank panel (TIP - the score lines of the Inner Panel line up perfectly within the scorelines of the Outer Card Blank when you lay it all down flat)
    
    NOTE - this Tutorial assumes that you have already created a single Pop Out Swing card and so know how to stick the Tabs in and stick the frames in the aperture... If not... then please visit this Tutorial here for further pictorial instruction...  points 12-17
    
19. Fold over left hand sides of Inner Panel flat onto central section (ie both open)
20. Adhere 2 Tabs to top and bottom
21. Open Z fold section with Tabs out to left, apply glue on top of Tabs and fold LHS of card onto the glued Tabs
22. Repeat for Right Hand Side (and a Tip from my ladies... a lot of them found it easier to turn the whole card around 180 degrees... as they were used to sticking the Tabs in that way round!)
    
23. Close left hand side of Card Blank onto Z folded Inner Panel left hand side & adhere frame through aperture
24. Repeat for right hand side
    
25. Adhere all other parts... I just faux stitched the frames with a Basic Black marker pen

Fancy Fold Friday - Small Square Pop Out Swing Card with Tutorial

Gosh I have had so many emails and messages about this card fold... so it has taken priority amongst all the other eagerly awaited card folds!

So here you have the Tutorial for the Small Square Swing Fold (aka Lever) Card

For my US Readers... Note that I have done a literal conversion from the Metric (Centimetres) version... as it works so well with a 6" wide piece of Springtime Foils papers for the insert panel... so it will be a little bit of a trim down for you from US Letter sized card... and also beware... as I have not done a test run with the inches version... I am sure it will work but you might be a micron out from a fully opening card...

Card Blank - Cardstock Night of Navy 21 x 10.5cm (8 1/4" x 4 1/8")

Insert - Papers Springtime Foils Stripe 15.25 x 10cm (6" x 3 7/8")

Tabs - CS Night of Navy 2 x 10.2cm (x2) (3/4" x 4") 

Paper - Front of Card 10cm Square (3 7/8")

Paper/Card for Inner Panel 4.7 x 10cm (1 7/8" x 3 7/8")(I used Thin Whisper White so as to not add bulk!)

Card for stamping/diecutting front centre panel - Thick Whisper White 7cm (2 3/4") Square 

Card for diecutting front centre frame - Night of Navy 7cm (2 3/4") Square

Excuse the old photos... using different card colours... but new photos would mean that there wouldn't be a tutorial!! There are only so many hours in a day after all...

1. Score LANDSCAPE larger (Night of Navy for this card) card blank panel at 10.5cm. (4 1/8") Bone Fold.

2. Score smaller (Striped Springtime Foils) insert panel at 5.1 & 10.2cm (2" & 4")

3. Bone Fold as concertina/Z-fold ( ie one as mountain & 1 as valley fold)

4. Score 2 smallest (Night of Navy) panels at 5.1cm (2")(for Tabs) and Bone Fold

5. Adhere paper to front of card blank...

6. Die cut Aperture in card blank front  … 2nd largest Square in the Stitched Shapes Framelit dies  used here...

7. Adhere Z folded panel to RHS of open card blank (note: valley fold of Z Fold panel to LHS when stuck)

8. Fold over front of card blank. (with Z folded panel folded inside)

9. Apply glue through aperture to top of Z fold panel (ie to RHS of aperture) Note I have used Sticky Strip just so you can see where the glue needs to be…..

10. Adhere stamped and die-cut Stitched Shapes square through the aperture (making sure it can swing through the aperture)

 

So now for the Tabs to attach it all together….. and allow it all to pop out and swing…

10.Open up Card blank. Open out Z folded panel to the right.

 

11. Apply Glue to one side of the 2 Tabs

12. With folded edge of Tabs to outer/RH edge of Z panel - adhere one side of Tabs to top and bottom of Z fold insert panel  (ie above and below the die cut panel) ensuring that these tabs are clear ...
(a) above and below the aperture shape
and
(b) the Z fold insert panel LHS score line.
Trim if necessary

 

13.Fold top layer of Z Fold panel back over & open the Tabs out towards the central score line of the card blank.

  

Check that the Tabs will clear the central score line of the card blank.

Trim if necessary

14. With the Tabs opened out, apply glue to top side (ie facing you)

14. Fold front of card blank shut to close down onto tabs

And there you have it…one safely attached swing out card mechanism….

Now... depending on the colours you have used for the card blank and the insert panel... some of you won’t like the fact that you can see the Tab on the back of the white Z folded panel…

3 ways to work round that …

(1) have the card blank and tabs in the same colour (as I have with this card) so that you can't see the colour difference when you open the card... 

(2) have the card blank and Z folded insert panel all in the same colour ... so no colour difference anywhere!

(3) cut two extra 2 x 5.1cm Tabs in the same colour as your Z Fold insert panel (so plain Whisper White would work for this one)…and just stick over the top!

Look vanished! 

So there you have it… finish off your decoration to the front section… and you have a simple looking card with a WOW on opening… and it is simple to make too… especially by a third run...

My final decoration is purposefully very quick and simple as over 50 Easter Treats plus a few cards amongst 5 ladies was a mean order!! But click here for another one with a bit more work...and colour!

So a Scalloped Night of Navy Frame (created by using the Layering Squares die and the same Stitched Shapes square die ... at the same time!!) 

Plus a flowery die cut from the Sweet Soiree Embellishments kit... not how I coloured the paler pink flowers with the Night of Navy Stampin Blends... great job to co-ordinate...

Finished off with a Night of Navy Stampin Blends coloured Pool Party sequin from the Tutti Frutti Adhesive Backed Sequins pack...

And a Dark Night of Navy Stampin Blends coloured Silver Metallic edge ribbon... which is particularly gorgeous!

Though I am now really sorry to say that Stampin Blends are NOW officially unorderable until May...
