Tuesday Trio - Geraniums....

So as I was kitting out the Welcoming Window Class in the Mail... I thought I should add a simple but fun fold card to the pack... just to say Thank You...

But time was of the essence... so a simple easel card with geraniums fit the bill... and so making a nice little trio of geranium cards for you...

Love how the planter makes the perfect "stop" and greeting label for the card... with those flowers strategically placed below the window...

Bricks stamped repeatedly in Sahara Sand using the brick stamp in the set... and then Sahara Sand ink brush blended (or sponged) over the top...

Missed out on the first round of the Welcoming Window Class in the Mail kit...

Well never fear... second round requested and now on for the product bundle with the 10 card free class kit in the UK ... Close date 23rd March... though actually the card kits can be with you within 5 days (on a first come first served basis... as I prepped a few more as I was doing the first round)

Live elsewhere or already have your own Welcoming Windows.... you can just buy all the tutorials for not 8... not even 10.. or 14... but actually 15 cards... in a whopping 19 pages of step by step photo tutorials in PDF format...

PS this Simple Easel card is not included in the Tutorials... But just score a LANDSCAPE 21 x 10.5cm piece of card at 5.25 and 10.5cm (or for US Letter.. trim & score a LANDSCAPE 8 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of card at 2 1/8" & 4 1/4") and mountain bone fold both score lines

Terracotta Pots and Geraniums...

I just found another Welcoming Window card that I missed at the time.... check out the simple stamping of greenery for the small pot on the left hand side...
Again another card that takes me back to many a holiday in sunny France... with geraniums in terracotta pots around barns....

Though I had a play with the colours used for the terracotta pots... and decided I like Calypso Coral (large pot) and Terracotta Tile (small pot) the best...

But I also tried Cajun Craze and Cinnamon Cider...

Geraniums on a French Barn...

Well that is what this Welcoming Window #9 card one reminds me of... which takes me down a lovely Memory Lane trip...

I was very lucky as my parents owned a converted barn near Brantome in the beautiful Perigord in France... and this card really reminds me of that house...
Many a happy year of family holidays there... though sadly we all decided to sell it on about 10 years back... as the type of holiday we needed changed... but yes guess what would probably suit us more now! Hey Ho...
So Poppy Parade & Garden Green marker pens used for the geraniums... with Seaside Spray lightly brush blended onto the flower image to soften...

The Crumb Cake die cut wood parts are all blended with Crumb Cake using the Blending Brushes too...

Tuesday Tips - Blending Brushes & Welcoming Windows #4

Fourth and last in this Welcoming Windows mini series...

Though there are a few mini more Welcoming Windows series to share... but what do you think so far?

Anyways today... we have curtains at the window instead... again care of the Sale A Bration free Paper Blooms papers

And the embossed brick walls are roughly brushed with Sahara Sand... using the new and amazing Blending Brushes... which are amazing... and keep going in and out of low stock as they are proving popular... so don't delay in buying these...

And a few tips for you when using the Blending Brushes... which have the finest of white bristles to blend with

(1) apply quite a lot of ink as then the blending is much easier and smoother

(2) dont "pounce" the brush direct onto the panel.... move it from the edge onto the panel instead... and using a craft mat under your panel (aka cheap oven liner in my craft room!) really helps smooth the ink onto your panel

(3) Contrary to some rumours!!!!... you don't need a brush for every colour... lol...  but you will soon make use of the 3 in the pack... I will keep one each for blues, greens and neutrals (eg Sahara Sand)... as I use all those a lot... Then I'll just get another set of 3... as they can be cleaned by rubbing/swooshing on a dry microfibre cloth... but they  are washable too!
