Lovely as a Spring Tree...

Finishing off my Watercolor Pencils and Lovely as a Tree series... Happy Spring everyone...

So here is the full series round up picture... call it a Tree for all Seasons...
Back to the Spring trees... Spot the details...

Blossom Trees care of Melon Mambo Watercolor Pencil blended out with an Aquapainter... then I added lots of Signo White gel pen (retired - sniff!) dots to calm it down a bit!
Daffodils care of the short grass stamp in In The Meadow and my partial Damp & Stamp technique (Part 3)...as explained earlier in this post...

Birds from High Tide... I just inked up the smallest 3 using a Basic Black marker pen...

Grass is Old Olive pencil coloured direct stamped onto the panel and then blended out with Aquapainter... Sky is watercolour washed Pacific Point from a plastic sheet... as explained in the earlier post...
Oh and I used Shimmery White for the stamped panel this time... whereas all the others have been on Watercolor Paper... works a treat!

Happy Easter from the Circle of Spring stamp set

And I have to laugh at myself... how can something so simple use 4 different stamp sets!! Oh well it had to be...

Beautiful You & Mediterranean Moments

Another Watercolor Pencil masterpiece! Built up from the same Shimmer White sized stamping panel & mat  - and using the Paper Piecing technique for the girl... as explained yesterday...

This Beautiful You girl was stamped... then masked... and then the scene stamped over... all using black Staz On...

And then I had to laugh at myself... as my dislike/inability? of colouring quickly evaporated....

I started off with a wash of grey for the road and sepia for the rest (aka Basic Gray and Early Espresso pencil & water Aqua painted off a plastic sheet again as explained here) And I intended to stop there...
Then I just thought I would add the Old Olive greenery...

Then came the Real Red pencil dot geraniums...

And then I just carried on... bit of sky... pots & lamps... bridges & window frames... drainpipes and fascias... all became more & more defined as I lost myself in the scene... And the moment!!

And here are the two cards together...
Can't wait to show you my next Mediterranean Moment!!! Which I am in the middle of... And I really must finish my Lovely as a Tree series first!!!

Watercolor Pencils #10 - Back to Lovely as A Tree...

Back to the "Trees mini series" within the Watercolor Pencil series! Can't believe I am already on number 10...

Here is another quick & simple little landscape care of Lovely as a Tree and the Watercolor Pencils...
Pacific Point & water wash of the sky... by which I mean... Scribble pencil on a plastic sheet (such as your Stamp A Ma Jig sheet - unfortunately the clear blocks don't work so well...)... add a few drops of water from your Aqua Painter- and mix for a watery wash to subtly colour in that sky area...

Old Olive pencil & Aqua Painter colouring of grass and leaves on the trees...
Real Red dots on the 2 smaller trees to represent apples (Note- no water applied afterwards so as to ensure a "hard" dot...)

3 ticks in the sky for the birds... using the Basic Black pencil

Watercolour Pencils #8 - Lovely as a Tree

Quick share today... just using the Watercolor Pencils to colour on the Watercolor Paper and then using the Aquapainter to drag out to a wash... for a lovely little sunset scene...

Starting with Calypso Coral on the horizon... moving up to Daffodil Delight at the top. Ground with a light dusting of Basic Gray with a teeny tiny bit of Daffodil Delight...
And I have to say... thoroughly enjoyed using Lovely as a Tree again... still as good as it ever was...

Candy Cane Christmas & Candy Cane Lane

So whilst I had the watercolor paper and aquapainter out... I had to produce another card...

Finished off with 3 trees stamped from the Candy Cane Christmas set... in Crumb Cake , Real Red & Early Espresso
Simples but very effective in the flesh...

Tweaking the Candy Cane Lane Birdhouse Card

Thank you for all your lovely comments about my birdhouse card yesterday... I am glad so many of you like it as much as I do...

So yesterday I admitted that I had already been tweaking my Candy Cane Lane Bird House card... so I think you may like this one too...
I just grabbed some watercolor paper, Pool Party ink and an Aquapainter...and gave it a good old random watercolor wash...

Everything else the same as yesterday's card... though I did forget to tell you a few details yesterday...
Greeting inked up with Pool Party ink pad, then inked up Christmas with a Real Red marker pen...and the rest with an Early Espresso marker pen...

The Seasonal Bells plant pot described in more detail  here... but I used Early Espresso card and ink...
And the Soft Suede wood post is wood-textured by stamping the Timeless Textures wood effect stamp in Soft Suede

And oh ... the inspiration for this card came when I was making this one...

Now which do you prefer? Wash or white!?
And oh... you may have noticed that the white version has had a little dressing up too... care of Fine Tip glue and clear Mica Flakes on the roof...

Aqua Winking...and Birthday Blooms

Remember this card... well seeing as it was SO popular both here in the flesh and on Pinterest... I decided to re-make all the cards in the set for my class using the Aqua-painter and the Gold Wink of Stella....
And as I demonstrated the technique at class...a  new expression came to mind...  aqua-winking... lot easier to say than the following....
1. Scribble your Gold Wink of Stella on a clear block (or piece of plastic or ceramic plate or something smooth and slippy...)

2. Pick up your Gold from the block using your Aqua Painter and aqua-wink (watercolour) as required ... note just add a drop of water if you want the colour to be even more subtle!!
3. Go over with your Clear Wink of Stella if you want even more shine...

4. Use Staz On cleaner to clean your clear block when you have finished (as the gold stains!!)
Don't forget to paper tole the flowers too... makes a huge difference to these cards... though unfortunately somewhat too subtle to see on the photos!! So you will have to trust me...
