Watercolor Wings Serene Scenery

Some more makes with the Serene Scenery papers today...

With Baby Wipe ink pad butterflies this time...
Everyone loved making these... and for once no-one got stressed that theirs weren't the same as mine!
I used the large background butterfly stamp and antenna from Watercolor Wings - along with the both the Butterflies dies (for the filigree butterfly) and the Bold Butterflies dies (for the baby wipe pad solid butterfly)
The small butterflies and greeting are from the Butterfly Basics set, punched out with the Bitty Butterfly punch. And I used the Blushing Bride sequin trim for the body...
And a tip for you with the trim... though oops no photos...

I cut off a strip of about 5 sequins - plus one extra that I put on a Glue Dot.  I placed Tear N Tape along the body section, wrapped under the thread at one end of my 5 sequins and stuck them to the body part. I then placed the single one on the Glue Dot to cover the other end.

But you do need to think about the direction that your sequins will lie in...as you want that last sequin to be in the same orientation!

Bright and Beautiful Corner Garden

OK... so I was set a challenge... to go bright with those beautiful flowers in the Corner Garden image..

And so here is the result... still with the gold embossing...but direct marker colouring of the flowers ... so really bright! Adult colouring at its best...as you can do it over and over again.... #arttherapy
Actually reminds me of some painted china that used to be around...

And I love the Watercolor Wings butterflies with their gold tips and bodies... they really pop!
And a product highlight for you... the Adhesive Remover aka the Mistake Rubber Outer!

I am sure that you will all have the sense to have this little must have item.. I definitely wouldn't be without it...and I do use it a lot...

I do find that I wreck lots of my makes  - right at the last minute - with a careless straying of a glue covered finger.... and that is SO annoying....

So here is the Before (see left above the foil mat - above the stalk of the red flowers) Lovely big glue splat!!
And here is the After - glue be gone - MAGIC - phew!
Rather glad I was set this challenge... I actually love the final result! Just goes to show that you can't go wrong with this Corner Garden stamp set

CAS Timeless Elegance Butterfly Box Frame Card

Another of my quick shares over the next few days... I have been working on re-producing some of the classics but with new & current papers ...

Another Large ShadowBox Frame Card here...you can find the tutorial here

Simpler centre panel than some of my previous versions - reminds me of a butterfly collectors wall cabinet...
Difficult to see but the back solid Tip Top Taupe butterfly is stamped a few times with wording to add some interest. A trick I picked up from the Stampin' Up! Tin of Cards kit...
A simple card in style that still packs a punch...

Watercolor Wings Tunnel Fold Card

Remember my variant from our Quarterly training projects (with my un-intentional change of colours to Mint Macaron & Lost Lagoon!)....
Well it became this...
Just the smaller butterfly from the Watercolor Wings added and a change to the wording on the banner as I didn't have the Thank You wording to use in class  ...and as I knew a few ladies were after birthday cards....(and the eagle-eyed amongst you will have spotted that it was in Island Indigo - so not perfectly co-ordinating!!)
Just finished off with the addition of a tunnel fold card insert on the inside to add a window to the world! This insert is just scored at the centre and 2" from each side - with the oval aperture cut on the centre line....
Stamped my ferns... and then some careful lining up of my Sahara Sand inked embossing folder on the insert - and there you have it - another great brick wall effect... The card front is inked on the embossed side of the folder...and the card inside on the debossed side...

And I will leave you with a quick tip if you wished to create the same effect within that window... stamp the Watercolor Wash background stamp & the ferns etc on a plain card panel...then score! No line in the middle to do a cover up on!!!! I think you know why I know this.....!!

Oh and a word to the wise for future weeks to come.... the reduced price Weekly Deals were incredibly popular this week... 6 items selling out within 24 hours... Still 5 left though..... and many of the NEW Clearance Rack items too

And a hint for tomorrow.... a tutorial for Fancy Fold Friday!!

And a poser for you....

Which new card over the past month do you think has had the most blog hits!?

It started off with very few page views.... and no comments... and I was surprised - and sad!!
I thought it was a great card type but... sniff!! I thought no-one liked it or was interested... and so I did not write up the tutorial...

And then suddenly the blog hits began to increase... and this week they have rocketed.... and so now I have to apologise for not publishing the tutorial sooner.....! Back on it!!

Another stepped up CAS Watercolour Wings

So this is the other card I kept back from my training makes for a slight tweak....

Slightly more subtle this time....

Just inked direct with an ink pad around the mat and banner edges...and used the debossed butterflies side rather than the embossed side.

 Debossed Embossed

And here they are side by side....
And here are my set of 4 cards... although I am now laughing at myself  - the 2nd set of butterflies were meant to be in blues... Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo - so how come I ended up with Mint Macaron & Lost Lagoon butterflies!!

Oops - they were meant for another 2 cards we made....  oh well off to stamp more butterflies then!!!

Stepped up CAS Watercolor Wings

Kept a couple of my training makes back for a quick but simple step up for my girls!

The Butterfly Basics were out as we are using that stamp set next week - so the beautiful fern had to be used...both in Mint Macaron and Lost Lagoon.. each inking of the stamp being stamped twice....

I used the Brick Wall embossing folder again - but this time I swooshed it (yes official term now!) very lightly with a Sahara Sand ink pad before I embossed the card.... Then I lightly sponged around the edges with Sahara Sand too.... Fabulous texture!

And a Lost Lagoon greeting on the banner & a few pearls just to liven things up a bit!

And here are the original Brick Wall super CAS and slightly stepped CAS cards for you! I love both... in fact I think you will all get to make both! Time willing....

PS this post is Plan B for today ... I spent ages writing out a Fancy Fold Friday tutorial for you... and technology has beaten me.... it has seemingly vanished....  so there has been lots of swearing going on over here in North Yorkshire... So you have a lovely CAS card instead... I'll have a search for that tutorial next week....

CAS Watercolour Wings

If you like butterflies you are going to absolutely love love love the new Watercolor Wings stamp set...

If  you are on the fence so to speak about butterflies (like me) - then you are still going to love this set! Trust me I do.... In fact... I have actually had to admit that I have finally got over my dislike of butterflies....

The hardest part may be deciding which of the fabulous butterfly & co-ordinating framelits sets you will purchase first! Watercolor Wings or Butterfly Basics....

You will regret neither...and you will probably end up with both...which is great as they both co-ordinate really well with each other!

So my first share with the set is a true CAS (Clean & Simple card). We made these at training last week.... Thanks Julie - love these! Right up my CAS street.... and I know my girls will love this in my classes next week ....

Both use the Watercolour Wings stamp set, the fabulous new Thank Yous greeting set, One Big Meaning and the new Triple Banner Punch for the banner.

The first uses the new Fluttering embossing folder and the second the Brick Wall embossing folder. Great thing about these folders - is that they are 6" square..... so I can emboss a whole large square card in one go... thank you Stampin' Up!

Both butterflies are stamped using Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant - but the first is the second stamping  - whereas the second is the first stamping!!!! LOL.... what a mouthful - shame I didn't load these photos up the other way round.... What I mean to say is that I stamped up both butterflies without re-inking in between - think I prefer the more subtle second stamping in this colour way....

And oh... Weekly Deals this week.... click on the pic for more details. Two great stamp sets ( Banner Banter & And Many More) there for the Banner Punch and Word Window Punch which loads of you already have! And lots of embossing folders too...
