Lots of Lavender Narrow Notecards Trio

Back to the Lots of Lavender set... which can be yours for free during Sale A Bration with a £45 order...

And a trio of Lavender Narrow Notecards... as I wanted to try out a few techniques in a little set...

So first up... No Line Stamping for the outline stamp with Baby Wipe ink pad for the filler stamp... with the Old Olive leaves just stamped with the stamps in the set...
So I used Smoky Slate for the No Line Stamping... and Rich Razzleberry, Berry Burst, Wisteria Wonder and a tiny bit of Elegant Eggplant inks on my baby wipe... it looks very dark in the photo... but a lot nicer... and more subtle... in my hand! And I reckon that I could have got 20-30 stampings from my Baby Wipe ink pad...

Next up... Marker direct colouring (Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive) on the outline stamp... with Baby Wipe ink pad again for the filler...
And lastly No Line Stamping for the outline... with Marker Thumping for the filler...
I inked up the filler stamp with a Wisteria Wonder ink pad and then marker thumped with Rich Razzleberry, Berry Burst and Elegant Eggplant... needed quite a lot of thumping mind...

And my favourite...definitely the first... looks most effective and is by far the quickest! Just a shame I couldn't take a decent photo! And it was even my second attempt...

Special Card for a Special Girl... and Fancy Fold Friday!

Have to share how useful the Large Letters dies are when you need a sentiment or a word that you would never find in a stamp set!

I had a lovely call this week from a family friend whose daughter had just been made Head Girl at our school... so I am delighted for her and so so proud of her!
So a very special card was in order to shout out her achievement in big letters!

This is another Tag Topper Concertina card for which the tutorial is here... but I used the Pop of Pink papers this time
Quick Baby Wipe swipe with Pool Party on each white panel plus a few random stars. Star and greetings from the Confetti Celebrations stamp set...
And a quick tip for you... my white background letters looked a bit lost when I took the photo...so I just grabbed my Basic Black marker pen and carefully drew an outline around with the thin end... the before photo added so you can see below...
Definitely a unique card for a special and very happy girl!

And remember if you buy the Large Letters stamps & dies bundle this month... you will have two £4.50 Bonus Days coupon codes to spend in August...and very nearly a third (just £15.50 more for that third!)... Bonus Days details here... But if you are going for 3 coupons ... remember it is then just a further £15 for a £150 order which will also earn you another £15 in Stampin Rewards for free! Feels like we are giving money away!!!

Alternatively if you are going for just the Large Letter dies... remember to add something (anything!)  to go over the £90 for 2 Bonus Days coupons ...

CAS Baby Wipe Watercolour Wings

Here is the other card that acccompanied yesterdays. Very simple but so effective...

This was a card we made at Monthly Training a while back... though I had to re-make it as I had a very sludgy butterfly at the time- which served me right as I was last on the baby wipe ink pad - probably doing too much talking or something....
Look closely and you will see lots of fine splatters - all care off a shake/tap of the gold Wink of Stella pen - a great technique demonstrated by Shelli at the April On Stage event.

I say shake or tap as we found that some ladies got it to work with a shake whereas others had to give it a sharp tap... funny how we can all be different doing the same thing!
For more details on the butterfly - just check out yesterdays post...  Greeting from Butterfly Basics... and spot the new Subtles Pink Pirouette Enamel Shapes on the body

And I have just realised that I still haven't shared everyone's favourite butterfly card yet... coming soon... and then I think that it is the end of the butterfly season!

Watercolor Wings Serene Scenery

Some more makes with the Serene Scenery papers today...

With Baby Wipe ink pad butterflies this time...
Everyone loved making these... and for once no-one got stressed that theirs weren't the same as mine!
I used the large background butterfly stamp and antenna from Watercolor Wings - along with the both the Butterflies dies (for the filigree butterfly) and the Bold Butterflies dies (for the baby wipe pad solid butterfly)
The small butterflies and greeting are from the Butterfly Basics set, punched out with the Bitty Butterfly punch. And I used the Blushing Bride sequin trim for the body...
And a tip for you with the trim... though oops no photos...

I cut off a strip of about 5 sequins - plus one extra that I put on a Glue Dot.  I placed Tear N Tape along the body section, wrapped under the thread at one end of my 5 sequins and stuck them to the body part. I then placed the single one on the Glue Dot to cover the other end.

But you do need to think about the direction that your sequins will lie in...as you want that last sequin to be in the same orientation!

CAS Butterfly Basics

Keeping it simple for a Beginners Class I taught the other week... using Butterfly Basics stamps and Bold Butterfly dies...

Background care of a baby wipe picking ink off the Pool Party ink pad lid and swooshing across Whisper White card... Mint Macaron leaves, Sahara Sand honeycomb, Tip Top Taupe postmark on both cards.

Rich Razzleberry wording and top small butterfly, Sweet Sugarplum small butterfly and die cut white butterfly aquapainted with Sweet Sugarplum & Rich Razzleberry on the right...
Pool Party dashed border, Tip Top Taupe greeting and diecut white butterfly on the right hand side card.
And as my display of the set of cards was SO popular... we will be making these (amongst others) again this Wednesday... couple of spaces left.... but if you let me know today so I can prep...

Partial Bendi Fold Card with Fancy Fold Friday Tutorial

A Bendi Fold card was the first card I HAD to make once I had my Sleigh Ride edgelits in my hand...
But the right panel was too short and I thought there would be a problem with the card in the hands of the receiver... The card will arrive flat in the envelope and I have to hope that they spot both slots and manage to assemble it...

Probably definitely not the back slot... as it is difficult to see and difficult to assemble...
So I changed the card to just have the front slot... as I reckon that one will be managed! And from a distance it looks exactly the same as the Full Bendi Fold version...

Also spot the merry Christmas greeting - it is just using the co-ordinating Jingle All The Way stamp set - merry from "merry everything" and Christmas from "home for Christmas".

I just covered the words on the stamp that I didn't want with a post it note, inked up the stamp, removed the post it note and stamped...then repeated with the other stamp...
And the background is Baby Wipe Marbled again...on Shimmer White card here - just using Night of Navy ink this time... very subtle so may not show up in the photo...
And  - seeing as it is Fancy Fold Friday - here are the metric instructions for this Partial Bendi Fold version...

Recipe - I used all Shimmer White card
Back Panel 14.8 x 10.5cm
Front RHS Panel 14.8 x 6.5cm
Front LHS panel 13.5 x 8.5cm
Marbled Background Panel 14.3 x 10cm

1. With Front RHS 6.5cm panel LANDSCAPE - score at 1cm from both sides
2. Turn the panel over and mark 1 and 2.5cm down from the top on the left score line
3. Cut above and below to form a tab

4. With Front LHS 8.5cm LANDSCAPE - score at 1cm from one side
5. With score to Left, line up panel LANDSCAPE at 5cm on Top Bar
6. Cut from 5.5 to 7.5cm

7. Die cut houses on Front LHS 8.5cm panel
8. Die cut trees on Front RHS 6.5cm panel
9. Trim down score line as necessary
10. Bone fold scorelines
11. Ink up & stamp merry Christmas on Front RHS Trees panel
12. Adhere Front LHS Houses panel (to LHS) and Front RHS Trees panel (to RHS) to the front face of the larger Back Panel using the 1cm sections/tabs

13. Emboss & Baby Wipe Marble smaller 14.3 x 10cm background panel
14. Adhere background panel to front face of Back Panel ( duly covering up those 1 cm tabs)

15. Make sure your small tab fits in the slot. Trim if necessary...

Silent Night & Baby Wipe Swoosh

Staying on Baby Wipe Swoosh theme... Just to prove that every sky is different!

But before I start - don't forget to check out this week's new Weekly Deals (25% off)... I will be ordering next on Friday night 20 November...

So just in case you missed the rest of this week's excitement... here are the details for the Stamps on Sale with 20% off (until this Friday 20 November) ... and here is the Autumn Winter Catalogue Retiring List...

So I swooshed my white panel lightly with the baby wipe and Night of Navy ink...

I used the cut-out houses from another make as a stencil on this one... Daubing Night of Navy ink through the cut-out parts - apart from the smoke on the left hand side house - marker was required for that one! Too fine...
And then I started to stamp the Silent Night wording from the co-ordinating Jingle All the Way stamp set... and thought...what a shame I don't have any All is Calm, All is Bright... and then I remembered that I do! So out came the Wonderland stamp set... job done!
Another quick & simple card for mass production - care of my favourite Sleigh Ride edgelits...

Baby Wipe Marbling Technique for Technique Tuesday

Now this card was such serious fun!
After my Baby Wipe Swooshing on yesterdays Sleigh Ride card... I had another thought whilst the baby wipes were out...
And so  - for Technique Tuesday - can I now introduce you to the Baby Wipe Marbling Technique...
The photos definitely do not do justice to the marbling effect and texture on this card...seriously amazing... almost looking like suede on some... though every make is different!
So first the image was heat embossed onto a Whisper White card panel... I used white embossing powder- though clear would work too... I also used the thinner coated Whisper White card as the coating just gives you a bit more "swooshability"... (probably not a real word...but a good one!)

Lost Lagoon ink was picked up with my baby wipe and swooshed over the whole panel...

Then the baby wipe was scrumpled, more Lost Lagoon ink picked up and the ink dabbed onto the panel...

Keep the baby wipe scrumpled, pick up Night of Navy ink and again dab away... building up the colour until you have the effect you want...

Then do a bit of Night of Navy baby wipe gentle swooshing around the edges...

Then pick up more Lost Lagoon ink and swoosh away solidly at the bottom to form that solid horizon and panel...

And finally, pick up a piece of kitchen towel and clean off the embossed image... and then it all really pops!

Leave to dry... and then stamp your greeting in Night of Navy ink...

Try it... you may become addicted... we all were...

And here is another version with the greeting pre-embossed in white too...
Love both versions.... Which do you prefer??
And still loving this Hostess set, Six Sayings - available in clear and wood mount...

Right back to the card... Simple & stunning in the flesh ... and so much fun creating the background...
A bit of Baby Wipe Swoosh technique...

Grab a Baby Wipe and an ink pad...
Press the top of the closed ink pad so that ink transfers onto the inside of the lid...

Open up the ink pad and dab your baby wipe onto the lid to pick up the ink...
Swoosh your baby wipe across your piece of card...

Swoosh & build up colour & texture until you are happy...
But wait... I wasn't finished with the baby wipes quite yet! Another instalment on its way...
