Something old...something new...

Not only are we saying goodbye to the old year...and saying hello to the New Year, 2016
But this card also uses a mixture of "old" - soon to be retiring for ever - stamps...and new soon to be released stamps...

The old being the hostess Six Sayings set... for the New Year greeting...

The new being the Numbers of Years stamps & dies...which I have used for everything else...
And so with this simple little very glittery card...

I wish you all a Very Happy New Year...

And may 2016 be your best year ever!

Cheers!
And a HUGE Thank you...

Thank you for visiting my blog...

Thank you for being in my Team...

Thank you for supporting my classes...

Thank you for your Stampin' Up! orders...
Thank you for your support... especially those of you that comment/message/email and make my day!

And those of you that use my tutorials... and tell me so...and share your makes with me...especially when you then let me share with everyone else! That is what the creative circle is really about...
And for my fellow Jems... thank you for being such a great bunch of girls! I appreciate each and every one of you... with the support we offer each other... we could rule the world! And have a bit of fun along the way too... Just saying...

Cozy Christmas & Wonderland Swing Easel Card

Another day... Another Swing Easel card...
I had a few kits left over as people didn't arrive or had to leave early.. So I kept on making cards up...
Quite a lot of Swing Easel cards going out this Christmas!
This is just taking my simple little Snow Chalet scene... And popping it onto a Swing Easel Card to make it more WOW!

Flurry of Wishes Swing Easel Card

And finally the Flurry of Wishes stamp set came out...
I had used a few snowflakes back on a project in September...
But then the set went back onto the shelf... and kind of got forgotten about...
So another CAS Swing Easel card for you...
This was the third my ladies got to make in class...
Using the Wonderland papers...with Pool Party ink thrown in...

Acrylic Block Background Stamping & Sleigh Ride

Just realised I haven't shared this card... a stunner in the flesh...and simple enough to make...
Take one acrylic block ( you know the ones that you mount your stamps onto) ...
Dab Mint Macaron ink pad on bottom third...
Dab Night of Navy inkpad on top two-thirds...
Lightly spritz with water and stamp...
Add die cut word, die cut glimmer trees and a couple of stamped greetings...

Happy New Home Card

Not a card made in the Sleigh Ride class - as everyone wants full steam on Christmas cards...

But had to be made to show the versatility of these dies (gutted they are retiring!) - and although simple - this was one of my favourite makes...
I do find it difficult to find NEW HOME wording amongst all my Stampin' Up! supplies...
But this year other stamp sets in the the Autumn Winter Catalogue  have come to my rescue...
Firstly HAPPY NEW from the HAPPY NEW YEAR in the hostess Six Sayings set...
And secondly HOME from the MAY THE MAGIC OF THE SEASON FILL YOUR HEART & HOME ... in the Cozy Christmas set...
Aquapainter brushed Night of Navy ink across the Watercolor Paper for the stamped sky panel... and Mossy Meadow across the die cut Thick Whisper White at the bottom (note to self - use Watercolor Paper for the bottom next time!) Houses coloured using aqua-painted Tip Top Taupe & Smoky Slate...
And don't forget... the stamp sale with 20% off select stamps finishes tomorrow 20 November... please do not miss out - particularly on those Larger Than Life and Back to Basics alphabets, Wild About Flowers & Gorgeous Grunge (for the 2 of you that don't already have it!!)

Baby Wipe Marbling Technique for Technique Tuesday

Now this card was such serious fun!
After my Baby Wipe Swooshing on yesterdays Sleigh Ride card... I had another thought whilst the baby wipes were out...
And so  - for Technique Tuesday - can I now introduce you to the Baby Wipe Marbling Technique...
The photos definitely do not do justice to the marbling effect and texture on this card...seriously amazing... almost looking like suede on some... though every make is different!
So first the image was heat embossed onto a Whisper White card panel... I used white embossing powder- though clear would work too... I also used the thinner coated Whisper White card as the coating just gives you a bit more "swooshability"... (probably not a real word...but a good one!)

Lost Lagoon ink was picked up with my baby wipe and swooshed over the whole panel...

Then the baby wipe was scrumpled, more Lost Lagoon ink picked up and the ink dabbed onto the panel...

Keep the baby wipe scrumpled, pick up Night of Navy ink and again dab away... building up the colour until you have the effect you want...

Then do a bit of Night of Navy baby wipe gentle swooshing around the edges...

Then pick up more Lost Lagoon ink and swoosh away solidly at the bottom to form that solid horizon and panel...

And finally, pick up a piece of kitchen towel and clean off the embossed image... and then it all really pops!

Leave to dry... and then stamp your greeting in Night of Navy ink...

Try it... you may become addicted... we all were...

And here is another version with the greeting pre-embossed in white too...
Love both versions.... Which do you prefer??
And still loving this Hostess set, Six Sayings - available in clear and wood mount...

Sleigh Ride Big Moon Card

Love this card... as did everyone!
Everyone had this in their Top 3 of the 10 cards they made... yes 10... this die is that good for a stunning but simple card... So... right up my CAS street... and still fabulous for my Fancy Fold street too!!
Both the ribbon and non-ribbon (for bulk make/postal) version...
This card was well and truly inspired by this stunning card made by Irina Kozar. Thank you for sharing this beauty with us all Irina...

This is a card I first pinned over 3 years ago... and I liked it so much that I must have repinned it 20 times before Pinterest started to tell me I had already pinned it... I do so like that newish feature!

Winter Wonderland NOEL - Quad Box Frame Card

Another of the projects from my All Day event last weekend... great card and/OR mantelpiece decoration OR even a hanging decoration if re-orientated... may try that if I get a chance when they are next been made at next week's class....
And seeing as it is Fancy Fold Friday - the directions for you!!!
Make 2 of these...

Attach the 2 duo Box Frame sections together using another 2 x 13cm (5 1/8" x 3/4") panel scored PORTRAIT in half at 1cm (3/8").

This time the panel is placed on the back of the 2 duos where they meet at the centre.... fold forward/ie mountain between the 2... adhered flat to the backs... hope that makes sense.... will take a photo tomorrow and add....
I will be back very soon to share the snippity snips of the windows for the NOEL... but technology has  beaten me this week! Which also explains the awful photo quality too!!
