Fun Fold Friday - Easy Step Card Tutorial

Back with the tutorial as promised... for both the Easy (aka Simple) Centre Step Card AND Side Step Card... as the only difference is where you stick your front up & over panel... be it centred (as on the Tutorial sample)... or offset to one side (as on most of the others)...

Recipe
Main Card 14.8 x 20cm
Up & Over Panel 7.4 x 21cm *
Paper 14.3 x 7cm ; 14.3 x 2cm
Thin White Card - Inside: 14.3 x 7cm Front: 6.9 x 10cm
Plus white scraps for stamping the flowers and leaves

OR click here for the tutorial for Julie's original (US A2/inches) version that inspired my creations... Though I used a longer Up & Over panel* as I thought it slightly easier to score in half and assemble this way...
* This panel would be 3" x 8 1/2" scored LANDSCAPE at 4 1/4" to go with with Julies version...

1.     Score Main Card panel LANDSCAPE at 7.5, 15 & 17.5cm

2.     Bone fold mountain, valley & mountain

3.     Score Up & Over panel LANDSCAPE at 10.5cm

4.     Mountain bone fold

5.     Adhere papers to front faces of main card

6.     Adhere white card panel to inside face

7.     Put glue on front base section where required (ie centre or offset)
TIP - using grid paper useful for lining/eyeing things up for next steps...

8.     Adhere Up & Over panel to front/base section... ensuring things all lined up on front and back sections...

9.     Put glue on back of main card panel where required

10. Adhere Up & Over panel to back of main card panel

11. Ink up, stamp , colour and hand cut 2 flower duos, 1 leaf spray and 6 leaves as required.

TIP - I simply flicked Stampin Blends out from the centre of the flowers for a subtle colour effect...

12. Glue 2 leaves together to form 3pairs

13. Place card onto envelopeTIP - very important! It saves sticking flowers where they won't fit in the envelope!!!

14. Adhere white card panel to Up & Over section

15. Adhere top left leaves… (Note- leaves are stuck flat)

16. Adhere flowers (Note- flowers are 3D foamed)

17. Ink up & stamp greeting
18. Adhere rest of flowers and leaves
TIP - you could ink up and stamp the leaf spray direct onto the white panel to avoid fussy cutting if preferred!
And voila...

And here's a group shot for you... with all the Friendly Hello versions I made..

Note that the even simpler aka Easiest versions in the central slots above (and previously shared here)  just have Whisper White Main Card and Up & Over panels (so no extra thin white panels needed)... and the Granny Apple Green version does not have the 14.3 x 2cm piece of paper...

I always love a simpler version of a previous favourite but more complicated to create card fold... and this lays perfectly in that category...

First inspired by this card made by the incredibly talented Julie Davison at Julie's Stampin Spot... though I did convert to metric and make a slight change... but more on that another day...

And a few more to share over the next few days... as once I started... I couldn't stop... So if anyone fancies a nice 6 card Class in the Post??? There's one all ready to go...

Lets drink coffee... in a Charming Cafe...

I wanted to just make and send a card to a very good friend who has moved away...

We used to spend a lot of time catching up over an unplanned cup of coffee here (or a glass of wine depending on the time of the day) and I really miss that time with her!

So Charming Cafe and Balloon Celebration to the rescue... and a simple little card to say it all... will make a nice change from our usual texting service!
And a card when spotted .... now selected by some of my ladies for April classes...

And the details for the rest of you... as sadly you can't come to make it in class!

A small square simple (aka simplest!) easel card... 10.5cm x 21cm cardstock, scored in half LANDSCAPE at 10.5cm and in half again at 5.25cm (or with US Letter cardstock... 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" piece, scored at 4 1/4" & 2 1/8") Centre line valley folded, quarter line mountain/peak folded...
With an Old Olive 7cm (2 3/4") Square mat and a 10cm (4") square Delightful Daisy paper panel on the base...

A largest and smallest die cut Stitched Shapes square... stamped as required... and then some craft knife action to remove the window inside the frame!! Scary... not done that for a very long time...

And a couple more stampings of the window & canopy scene...
One in Memento Black on Whisper White card to hand cut the Stampin Blends Bermuda Bay & Old Olive coloured canopy...

One in Staz On Black on Window Sheet to colour with Dark Pool Party Stampin Blends and pop behind my hand cut aperture...

Plus a Memento Black stamping of the chairs and table on Whisper White for more Stampin Blends colouring in Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, Smoky Slate lights and dark Pink Pirouette
And the rest is just assembly and sticking... everything stuck with Stampin Dimensionals to add to the 3D effect... apart from the Window, Old Olive mat and the paper panel...

Gold & Vanilla Botanical Blooms Two Ways

Can't get the Botanical Builders die-cut and used much simpler than this... Very Vanilla flowers with gold foil centres...finished off with pearls in the centre... and gold foil leaves...

The cards are both made from the same 12.5cm card blank... the right hand just as a standard card blank... the left hand as a Simple Easel Card...
So (as some of you asked for directions) cut a piece of card 12.5 x 25cm... (5x10")

For the standard card blank...  score your LANDSCAPE panel at 12.5cm (5")

For the Simple Easel card... score your LANDSCAPE panel at 6.25cm (2 1/2") and 12.5cm (5")
The square panel is just a 9cm (3 1/2") Square - finished off with simple paper piercing using the (very sadly retiring - but reduced!) Essentials Paper Piercing pack on the right - with the addition of Faux Stitching on the left (I used a crafty stash gold metallic Sharpie pen)

The paper is from the Botanical Gardens paper stack (12 cm or 4 3/4") Square. It is used also used on the inside of the standard card  - but with an extra Very Vanilla panel with the inside greeting and gold embossed leaves... sorry no photo taken...

The gold embossed stamped leaves are from Grateful Bunch and again I have used the retiring (but also reduced) Sassy Salutations for my gold embossed wording
Simple, elegant and suitable for any occasion...

More Timeless Textures & Happy Home - Simple Square Easel Card

Another card from my Happy Home classes this week.
Again using the Timeless Textures Faux Watercolour background as on yesterday's card... but on a Shimmer White card panel this time... which really adds a subtle finishing touch...

My Circle of Spring stamp set also had it's first outing on this card  for the greeting and the bow. And the flowers are care of the Pictogram Punches stamp and the co-ordinating little Punch Trio

The card format is another Simple Easel Card variant... More details on the specifics to come in the near future...
But as background... I have decided to re-look at some of my more popular Fancy Fold cards/tutorials and try to re-design so you have something similar but even simpler to make... This one is based on the Swing Easel Card... Looks pretty similar but ... it just doesn't have the swing!
One thing to note - the papers are from the retired Subtles 12x12 Paper Stack - I went to get my Soft Sky and Pear Pizzazz papers from the current Subtles Paper Stack... and the cupboard was bare! Oops... Lucky I had a fall back option for the class....

Simplest Easel Card Tutorial

Remember this Simple Easel Card from earlier in the week... well I promised you the How To Make This Card... and here it is... although don't blink as you may miss the Tutorial...

1. Pick up a piece of A4 card
2. LANDSCAPE. Score at 10.5cm
3. LANDSCAPE. Score at 21cm
4. Bone Fold
5. Decorate as required and pop in a DL envelope!

Only taken me 12 years of papercrafting to think of this Simplest of Simple but a bit more special than a single score card!!! I think you may see a few variants pop up here over the next few weeks... my girls loved it for its simplicity!!

Apologies to my US readers... DL probably doesn't mean anything to you... (and I don't know if you have any equivalent) but it is a standard size envelope over here - commonly used for business purposes - but nice size for greeting cards too...
