The Tags this year!

Well I had a wonderful project to share with you today... But the photos I took were awful! And they are all wrapped up now... so that one will have to be another day...

So instead... I will share my tags for this year...
The one Christmas make I ALWAYS forget... and end up making very last minute... in a huge rush!!
So...nothing spectacular...just quick, easy and simple...
Amazing how quick great tags tags can be made armed with a Tag Topper Punch & the Triple Banner Punch!

Poinsettia Festive Fairy Lights

The story of these started the day I showed the girls the new Autumn Winter (Occasions) catalogue back in August...

We were discussing the products we liked and the special projects we wanted to make for Christmas this year...

I suggested Fairy Lights... for which there was some excitement...
And then ...just seconds afterwards... the Reason For the Season/Festive Flower Builder poinsettias were spotted in the catalogue!! Oh boy was there increased excitement in the room...

And then there was no going back...it had to be poinsettia fairy lights... for everyone but me (who had had other plans!)
I even tried to talk them out of them (having decided I wasn't buying this stamp set...and that there would be a lot of work involved!)

But then I saw the Poinsettia fairy lights my fellow friend & team demonstrator, Sally Jo Houghton had made and shared (1 September post)... and I was hooked too....
But hey... these prove that you do have to go with the flow...and do things that don't take your fancy initially...as they are SO stunning!!

They may have been a labour of love... but they are SO worth it... So thanks girls (and Sally-Jo) for forcing my hands!! I will truly treasure these as they come out in my home every year...
Things to point out...

I used Cherry Cobbler card... I should have used Real Red as definitely more poinsettia coloured and brighter in effect... but I went with the colour theme in my dining room...which is definitely more Cherry Cobbler than Real Red!

But all but one of my girls went Real Red... which is why I have some lovely bright poinsettia fairy lights to show you too!! Thank you for the in-situ photos Heidi... they look fabulous!

But I used Real Red ink, Cherry Cobbler ink was too harsh for my taste...

Took me a few attempts to line up with the punch layout...but I mounted the 3 petals stamps up on a clear block, stamped the trio loads of times... and then punched...

Whereas the extra large singles... I punched and then stamped...

I sponged around the edge of every petal! Yes seriously - took a couple of hours or so!

I stretched every petal with my bone folder and shaped it down the centre with the bone folder down the centre whilst on a thick Stampin Pierce mat... again an hour or so!

I actually used retired gold shimmer card for the centres... trying to stick gold glimmer or gold foil to itself (with everything else going on) just proving too hard!
Just need to add the leaves I created too!! I think they will just be packed away safely for next year....

Gift Card Holders

This year seems to be the year of most of the teenagers wanting Gift Cards... all different one though interestingly!
And as life has been so busy recently... I was so happy to oblige!!
So then I had to think up something quick and simple to wrap them up in...
So here you have it...
Smoky Slate Cozy Christmas Santa ( a keeper for me!)
Archival Basic Black greeting ( another keeper - love this one!)
And then at the last minute of making these... my Stampin' Up! pre-order box turned up...
So my clear Wink of Stella brush was pulled out...activated..and put into immediate service...
And oh wow... you will have to have the Wink of Stellas... my Santas then all came to life with a wonderful shimmer... hope you can kind of see in the photo...

Ferrero Rocher Christmas Pud

A remake of an oldie - but a goodie!
Perfectly sized to hold a single Ferrero Rocher...
Perfectly sized to add a subtle christmas treat to your christmas table
The box is just a simple 1 1/4" cube...

Cut a 3 3/4" square of card - score at 1 1/4" then 2 1/2". Then turn 90 degrees and repeat. Dart up 2 scorelines on 2 opposing sides and adhere together!
More details on the punch art pud here...
But this time I used the Sheltering Tree large leaves stamp to stamp the currants etc

For The New Two Wedding Swing Easel Card

Last Swing Easel Card! For now...
I had a special request for a Wedding Card...
And with the bells in the Cozy Christmas set...It was easy enough to oblige... the christmas greenery was just cut off!
I did think I would have my pre-order box (with my new Bloomin Love stamp set) ...but it arrived the day later...so I had to quickly find my retired best seller ever Flowerful Heart and push it into service again...
The heart is stamped in retired gold Encore ink - with the greeting gold embossed over the top...
I had to heat gun dry the heart ... but small flecks of gold embossing powder still stuck to it...which actually looks rather cool...
The wedding card requester was very happy... and so was another lady who got to make a Gold Wedding Anniversary card she needed...
