Monday Memory Keeping...

Preserving memories through memory keeping has to be one of the most satisfying ways to feed a creative urge.

Not only does it let you show love for the important people in your life, but you can also surround beloved photos with your own creative touches—adding an embellishment here, a Designer Series Paper layer there—until you feel that you’ve honoured your lo
ved one and created a work of art at the same time.

I think this Always Together page would be a treasured gift—one to copy, frame, and share with family or friends!

Add something special to the project by inking up the True Love Designer Series Paper background layers.

Give the flowers’ rich colour... First, colour the images with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends, then add a blush of colour on top using the dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend marker. ~

Add a bit more depth by adhering a Vellum Cardstock layer behind the photo, then make the page pop with a sprinkling of Artistry Blooms Sequins.

And let’s not forget that beautiful “Always” sentiment! Stamp with VersaMark ink on Bumblebee Cardstock and heat emboss using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

What can you do with all your boxes of photos gathering dust on the shelf? We challenge you to keep the memories fresh, pull out your papercrafting supplies, and start making a few precious scrapbook pages today. You’ll be glad you did!

Every Memory Counts...

It’s up to you to choose how to capture and keep your important memories.  And luckily for us, Stampin' Up!'s Memories & More Card Packs are great stepping stones for memory keeping.

For example, if you have a memorable holiday, you can count on the World of Good Memories & More Card Pack to help you highlight those precious moments of your trip.
And right now is the perfect time to work on projects like this, while the world still moves a little slower and travel is at a minimum.

But who said you need to travel to make memories? Every moment can be worth remembering with the Flowers for Every Season Memories & More Card Pack.
So go ahead, make something that features one or both of these Memories & More Card Packs, because life is worth highlighting, whether your memories were made close to home or far away.

And don't forget the Photo Pocket Pages  and Album to make your memory keeping as simple as simple can be...

Treasure those Memories for Jems Blog Hop...

Hello and welcome to the April Jems Blog Hop... featuring Memory Making aka Scrapbooking... to Treasure Those Memories...
Now scrapbooking is something I haven't done for ages!! And I used to really enjoy those classes....
So for today I have two pages for you ... and this maybe the only opportunity you get to see me!! As I am incredibly camera shy!!!

Albeit these photos being taken over 20 years ago on my wedding day! Gosh don't we both look young!!!
And I have to laugh at the word Smile... which is just one of the large stickers in the pack... that I have stuck to the top of a large photo... and that photo is stuck onto the top of some of the pockets rather than cutting a large photo up and inserting into pockets (as per the TOGETHER photo to the right)

As the memory comes flooding back ... of my mother-in-law telling both of us off on the day for smiling and laughing too much!!! Isn't that how a wedding day should be!!?? Though I have to admit that the biggest laugh was when I had to say Jon's middle name for the first time... and I kind of shouted it... and then we both got uncontrollable giggles!!! Yup... right in the middle of the wedding vows...

I used the Petal Passion card pack...
Petal Passion Memories & More Card Pack
Just one of the fabulous Memories & More range of products stocked by Stampin'  Up!

Memories & More is so easy to do... find your photos... pop cards and photos in pockets... add a few stickers and transparencies that come with the kit... and 10 minutes later memories saved...

This kit also co-ordinates with the Petal Passion 12x12 papers...
Petal Passion Designer Series Paper
So you can easily mix traditional 12x12 scrapbooking with Memories & More photo-pocket scrapbooking... What's not to love?

And here is a lovely photo of the full Petal Passion suite from the SU! display boards... spot that you can add any colour to liven things up as you require... I think there may a bit of So Saffron added to my pages next week...

So it is now time to say Goodbye... and pass you onto the lovely Lynn... just click on the big arrow below to go straight to the post...

Worth a quick trip around... as there only a few of us taking part as many of us demos are away celebrating together at the Stampin Up! On Stage event as this posts...

Yes by the time you read this... I will have seen the new catalogue!!! Happy dance!!!
Oh and just in case of any link problems that we won't be able to sort on Saturday... as we are in a busy room of 500-600 UK demos... here is the full list for today's Blog Hop...

Time for a Tardis on Tuesday!?

Not made a Tardis for a while... but I was given a Tardii Convention Class Challenge!
So hows about a Tardis mini book... just to prove that it is bigger on the inside...
I used the Floral Boutique papers and Washi tape...as the colours just suited...
Lots of room for photos... or Dr Who memorabilia!

And here is the one that Alice made... love her central stamped panel much more than mine! Lot more subtle....!
Though I have to admit to the polka dot papers on Alices' version being retired ones... I had a major mistake on prepping!! Oops...
    And back to mine...

    Project Life & Stampin’ Up!

    2014_04_SU&Becky Higgins_Logos

I am SO SO excited to bring you this news….. I just squealed as the news hit me!!

Stampin’ Up! have partnered with the amazing Becky Higgins to bring you the real deal—authentic Project Life products, now in exclusive Stampin’ Up! colours and designs.

This scrapbooking concept has long been my favourite way of documenting my memories… and I cannot wait to get my family life recorded quickly & simply… and to offer classes using the Project Life and Stampin’ Up! range of products….. so you can too!

If you’ve somehow missed the Project Life craze and are wondering what it’s all about, well… in a nutshell…  it’s a super simple, totally affordable way to get your photos into albums: you just slip your photos into Photo Pocket Pages and add designed cards. It’s a back-to-basics approach to documenting your life. In a nutshell, it’s all about spending more time making memories and less time scrapbooking them.

    2014_04_16_blogimage1_projectlife_april1514_all

Stampin’ UP! will offer a complete Project Life product line in the new annual catalogue, available in Europe beginning 1 July. You’ll also be able to order a selection of Project Life products a few weeks earlier than that! I’ll let you know more as the date nears.

And can’t wait till then … why not sign up as an independent demonstrator with Stampin’ Up! …. and then you will get first dibs!

Want to explore the Project Life concept more… go to my Pinterest board here…..

Just watch this video from Stampin’ Up and Becky Higgins for extra information on this Project Life range….

And here are some questions & answers from Becky Higgins….

Q: What types of Project Life products will Stampin’ Up! offer?

A: You’ll see Card Collections, Accessory Packs, Albums, Photo Pocket Pages, tools, other accessories, and Stamps, of course!

Q: Are the card designs the same as what we can buy in the stores?

A: Nope! We have worked with Stampin’ Up! to design all new products that are super fun and a perfect match to their existing color lines which will make coordination a breeze. Some of the Photo Pocket Page designs are the same and some are different than what we currently offer.

Q: Are the products packaged the same as existing products (i.e. Core Kits, Mini Kits, etc.)?

A: Most Project Life by Stampin’ Up! products will be sold in Card Collections of 100 cards with 4×6, 4×4, and 3×4 card sizes included. Each card will be printed front + back as all of our current products, but you will not receive duplicates of any cards in the set. Oh – And we’re doing square (not rounded) corners on all of our cards with Stampin’ Up! Yes, there’s an awesome corner rounder punch included in the product line-up if that floats your boat. There will also be Accessory Packs available (sold separately) that will contain a variety of accessories to complement the Card Collection.

Q: When will the products be available?

A: Products will be available for our European customers to order mid May. Watch for product images and more information coming soon.

Q: Will the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! products be available in digital format?

A: They sure will! Stay tuned for more information on when those will become available.

Nursery Suite & the Baby Girl Mini Scrapbook Page & Fancy Cover

So this is the other project we did in the Class with the Baby Boy Flap Mini Book.   Apart from the Fancy Flower Punch flower - this is a CASED project of the one to the right  ... but with a story....  and with no-one (or two!!) to attribute it to - so please let me know if you know/are the originator of this - so I can not only credit you properly - but thank you too!!

I first saw this on the Display boards at the Stampin' Up! Convention in November last year - and it just took my heart away!! It certainly inspired me to buy all my ladies a set of Nursery Suite papers and Quick Accents .... but then I couldn't find a photo of the project that I thought I had taken at Convention.

So I set too designing another project using this wonderful 12x12 Scalloped Circle piece of paper... and I got really excited about my new idea... and I had even almost finished the sample for class.... and then it was Stampin' Up's regional training event in Leeds.... and Lo and Behold - what was on the Display table but the same project I had seen back in November.... so a quick photo later.... and my class stayed as per the original plan..... one day I will finish my other circular paper project that I was so pleased with ... and post it here.... so watch this space......

Please see details of The Baby Boy Mini Book posted earlier for details on the tutorial for this project.

    Newsprint DSP Mini Books

Just a quick post with quite a lot of photos....

This is the class we are doing this Saturday - though I am afraid that I am fully booked for the session.  So we will be doing 3 mini books using the combination of Newsprint DSP; Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and  Basic Black cardstocks - with a bit of Baja Breeze on one of the projects.....

Edited to Add 30 March 2011....  I used some basics of this book with a lot of tweaks.... for my Baby Boy Mini Book using the Nursery Suite of papers & Quick Accents  - just see the inner page with the wonderful scalloped border 12x12 page!!!!

The Notably Ornate Frame book is inspired by a design from Kimberly Van Diepen from the Holiday Helper series that Debbie McNeill offers. This was just perfect for what I had in mind.... so I followed the tutorial and made up my book... and then LOL!!! There was an alternative book at the end of the tutorial... using the Newsprint DSP.... and the similarity of the front cover is SPOOKY!!! Thanks Meg Loven, Kimberly and Debbie  - I like your taste!!
If you are a demonstrator you can sign-up to receive the Holiday Helper series at http://debbiemcneill.com/store/?p=341.

The Fancy Goods book is using a clear DVD case with the insert taken out. I bought a load of these DVD cases for clear stanp storage....and I haven't got around to sorting those clear stamps yet... so thought it was time for an alternative use.  The actual booklet is just made up of clear card protection bags.

The Road Trip book is made using a tutorial for a Scrapbook Wallet to be found in the Resources section of Splitcoast Stampers.  Hopefully a link here. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/scrapbookwallet/

The travel related stamps I used are not Stampin' Up!
