Mini Monday Work of Art...

And this is very small!! But I just couldn't resist...

So ... only using part of the By The Bay image this time... call it Simple Spotlighting Technique... as it is a variant of the Spotlight Technique... just not using the background part too... so even simpler!!

And yes I am sure that this technique has a(nother) proper name... please let me know if you know!
So... in order not to use a lot of Shimmery White Card... I stamped the part I wanted on a small piece (of scrap)... and then die cut the small "one of its shape only" small rectangle using our lovely Rectangle Stitched dies...

Hopefully you can see which part of the image I used...
Then coloured my mini scene using ink pads and AquaPainter...

And then perfectly set it on a Narrow Notecard...
With a simple straightforward small greeting - also from By The Bay - below... And remember By The Bay can only be yours for free with (every) £45 order...

Small but lovely! A definite mini masterpiece! I might even take this to Art Class...

And on a final note... this card definitely reminds me of many a wall in many an Art Gallery in many a seaside village/town...

Work of Art Tractor in Emerald Envy

Following on from the Work of Art Train posted here... here is the tractor I created for the Stampers Showcase display boards at On Stage...

As soon as I saw the Emerald Envy colour a John Deere tractor popped into my head... so again it just had to be done!
Most of the image is created using Work of Art... with the addition of the wheels using the new and coming Swirly Bird stamp set
And a final thing to point out... I used the You've Got This background stamp to add the texture to the card blank... just Emerald Envy primary and secondary stamping (without re-inking in between)... loving that effect...

Work of Art 4-6-0 Train in Dapper Denim

Another project that caused a bit of an immediate reaction on the Stampers Showcase boards at Telford... totally marmite project... you will love it or loathe it! But I had so much fun making it!!! It really did have to be made....
I used the Work of Art stamps - along with the new and coming Swirly Bird stamps for the large Smoky Slate wheels and the small Basic Grey over-stamped wheels/wheel centres. Then a Balloon Celebration image as the Basic Grey spokes on the large wheels. Finished off with Balloon Builder wheel connectors and smoke...

But I have to add... if I were to re-make I would make my funnel taller... you would pity the poor driver in this train cab.... cough!
And a funny story... this was the only project I showed my husband... as he is into trains... so it had to be done... I expected a simple "Yes it looks like a train Amanda!" but no... I got an excited "That's a 4-6-0 ... followed by 10 minutes of him showing me pictures of lots of trains in books and magazines... bless!

So I got educated.... and now so will you... as there are 4 wheels at the front (two either side) - 6 in the "middle" (3 either side) and none (0) at the back! Hence a 4-6-0. So now you know....

Work of Art ... Tractor. And a Public Warning!!

So here is the other mode of transport I came up with using Work of Art...

Again a true CAS card just to show you the concept... Any further additions would have used up all my time & stopped me from sharing ( says the voice of experience!) ...so I thought it better to just mount it, photo it & blog it!

I am glad I found these though...as they reminded me how much fun I had when I opened the Work of Art stamp set for that first time. I reckon that everyone has their own unique Work of Art ...what will yours be?

Remember that the Work of Art stamp set  RRP£20 is only available at the £15 discounted price until 11pm tomorrow night (Tuesday)... but I wouldn't leave it until after 10.30pm to order....!

And my Public Warning... well... 11.01pm UK time tomorrow will bring us the new Weekly Deals... and SU! tell us that there will be more of them than the usual 8... with discounts up to 30%. But also that once the allocated stock is gone...then the item will revert back to full price!

And... wait for it... the Clearance Rack will be updated... don't we just love that! Discounts up to 60%

But remember stock-outs do occur VERY fast... so don't wait...if there are items you want... just order them through my On Line Store! Delivery will be direct to you from Stampin' Up! in 4-7 days... P&P £4.95

And do remember to enter my Stampin' Rewards code BPNRGEWY... then I can send you a little gift for orders over £20 (excl P&P)

Work of Art... Choo Choo Train!?

So here is something a bit different created with the Work of Art stamp set....

Seeing as the stamp set is on Weekly Deals this week... I just had to find this one to share with you... a true concept card... made a while ago... kept meaning to re-make as it was just created on a random piece of white card at the time... so today was the day to just add a couple of mats, photo and share! A true CAS card!

I keep telling you that my creative side works in the most mysterious of ways!

And I have just found another vehicle - inspired one too....! But that one one can be for tomorrow....

Remember that Work of Art has 25% off this week...but only till 10.30pm Tuesday night...

Piercing with Work of Art …. as 25% off Piercing Packs on Weekly Deals

Amanda Bates, The Craft Spa, 2014_07 078
Had to pop on and share this Clean & Simple card this week. As… there are 3 Paper Piercing Packs with 25% off this week on the SU! Weekly deals. All down to £5.44 from £7.25 RRP. The Occasions pack was used here….
This is a card we made in classes back in July – a few ladies had bought the Work of Art stamp set – so I set to and made some cards with it! And developed a love for the Work of Art & Fabulous Four stamp sets …but more on that another day…. But also a love for the new In Colour Lost Lagoon paired with Soft Sky… which is definitely continuing on till Christmas!!
And here is another version…. which actually came first… as I created this card to showcase the amazing ability of the new In Colour Blackberry Bliss to keep stamping as no other colour can!! The chevrons were not re- inked between stampings…it just kept going and going…. easy peasy!
