Rainbow Glimmer Paper

I know that some of you LOVE things that sparkle and shine. Whilst some of you don't!

Well, for the lovers... our new 2020–2021 Annual Catalogue has a special surprise for you: Rainbow Glimmer Paper.... Lovely!
Traditional Glimmer Paper with a splash of rainbow colour. You get swaths of Bermuda Bay, Blackberry Bliss, Granny Apple Green, Magenta Madness, and Mango Melody on two 12" x 12" (30.5 x 30.5 cm) thin glittered sheets.
Cut this rainbow-licious paper with dies for easy, glittery accents—possibly using smaller sections of a single colour. Or cut pieces that display multiple colours for an intense ombre effect. It’s like having a pack of colours on two sheets.
Our artist added shimmery die-cut letters to a card, created a background on another card, and used Rainbow Glimmer Paper to add depth and pizzazz to a birthday tag. What can you make with this fun and fancy paper? We think “the sky’s the limit”!
P.S. This paper coordinates with the Artistry Blooms Suite (AC p. 130) plus many of our Designer Series Paper and cardstock collections. See here for my round up of the whole suite...

Father Christmas meets Lovely as a Tree

A trio of cards for you today using Lovely as a Tree with Father Christmas... all of which caused a real WOW in the flesh for my Christmas in July class... though I don't think you will get the full glitter shine across the room from these photos! Which is what realistically what causes the WOW...

Starting off with a simple... Small Square card (10.5cm or 4 1/8" to be exact or 4 1/4" if I had US Letter Size cardstock!)
And then mounted up onto a Large Dapper Denim Square Card (14cm or 5 1/2") with either glittery white embossed trees or black trees...
Which caused me some amusement as everyone had a very definite favourite between the two... and were almost arguing over each other as to which was the most WOW!
Stamped panel basically all made the same... Top part of frame white embossed for the Emboss Resist Technique. Trees white embossed or stamped in Archival Black. Bottom frame part stamped in Archival Black.

Snow line masked and Dapper Denim sponge brayered over the top. Layered onto a Whisper White mat or card blank... And a sprinkling of Dazzling Diamonds over Fine Tip Glue to finish it off...

So which one do you prefer???
And a time saving tip for you... though not one I actually used on these cards!

Although I am definitely a Wood Mount girl... I specifically bought the Father Christmas stamp set in Clear Mount... that way I can carefully position and mount the 2 parts of the beautiful frame image on the one clear block when using the same colour ink... and then ink up & stamp away in one action! Love this frame!!

The Ever So Glitzy Card

Now this is one you will love  - or loathe!! And the Christmas Pines greeting REALLY couldn't be more apt!!

I don't think that it will show in the photos ... but this card definitely sparkles and shines from across the room! And it is either the first stocking card picked up... or the last!!!

You may remember that I had intended to make a full-on Gold Glitter card when I shared this one for the Teams' October Sparkly Blog Hop.
Well I found my Heat & Stick powder and Gold Stampin' Glitter...so I started to make one... and then I got a bit diverted.... as I had to try out the Red Glitter Embossing Powder for a greeting... and then the Emerald Envy Glitter Embossing Powder for the holly leaves... and I happened to have a Gold Glimmer die cut stocking sitting there... and so it all got stuck together!

The Real Red background to the stocking is just the Real Red mat.. I just die cut a plain stocking aperture in the front white panel and stuck the gold glimmer one through....
But the Gold on Red die cut stocking proved way too much for me.... so I had to try to calm it all down... with a little bit of sticking scraps from the same die cut stocking in white...

So if you like full-on glitter for Christmas.... then this is the one for you!!!

Actually I think I may know the very person to send this one to for Christmas..... and as she is a regular visitor who always reads to the end.... can you guess who you are????? Actually... and I am laughing my head off now.... I can feel quite a few of you shaking in glitter fear now..... oh no... I may have to make some more!!!! Only a comment may save you from one of these!!!

Before you recycle your Christmas cards! Determine your Style!?

Something a bit different today... but hopefully something that will be interesting (about me)... and thought provoking (for you)...

And for those of you that are not sure... maybe a way to define your crafting style(s)!? So I am throwing down a New Year challenge here for you...

So today was the day for clearing away my christmas decorations...and making my house look really bare...!  And then all the christmas cards we were sent were taken down...

And then I had a thought as I carried them to the recycling bin!

I sorted through them... allowing myself to pick just 12ish that I most liked... and here they are....
So what do these tell me about my crafting style... and there probably won't be any surprises here for my long term blog followers... I think these kind of some me up!

I like lots of white space!

I like a clean & simple style!

I like large square cards!

I like things to be fairly monotone - silver/gold/black with maybe a splash of red!

I like lots of glitter & shine on christmas cards!
I like trees!
I like wreaths!
I like houses & churches!
I like big words!
I like snowflakes and baubles!
Just one thing of my crafting style that isn't evident... no fancy folds!! But that is only as I wasn't sent any!

Though I have to admit that I purposely didn't select from my hand made cards... as that is just too hard... because (1) I would always select them to be in my Top 12 cards as they are always the best cards I receive! (2) I so appreciate the work that has gone into them so it would be impossible not to select them (3) Many are made with the sender knowing what I like in any case! (4) Many are from my blog followers!

Now I found this so fascinating that I allowed my self to choose another 12ish that hadn't made the original cut... and I learnt more....
I really like trees!! As long as they are covered in glitter!
I rather like cute Rudolphs! And reindeer in general! Even the stocking is covered in reindeer...
I rather like nordic/kraft & red
So I can hear you asking if there were any surprises!? I think the liking of the wreaths so much and the reindeer was probably the biggest surprise for me.... and that I didn't receive any cards with doors or windows on!!!

So hows about you??? What is your style...?? I would love to hear back from anyone that conducts this experiment for themselves.... or am I just too daft!!!

Glitter Trees

Oh I do like to see trees all covered in glitter...
This is a concept card I made to demonstrate different types of glue plus glitter... Dazzling Details vs Fine Tip Glue Pen plus Dazzling Diamonds...
The nuances do not show up on these photos... but trust me when I say that the sparkle across the room is amazing! So I ended up finishing the card off...
Oh - and different amounts  - and ways of application (squiggle or blobs!) of glue too... which you may be able to see the extra on the central trees...

And finally a blurry photo to attempt to show the level of sparkle...

Wonderland Wreath

Been working hard with my Wonderland stamps... and surprised at my favourite creations!

First off... the wreath...
The pine-cone spray is perfectly angled to create this wreath...

Edited to add - How To Pictorial for you here....

Have the pine-cone spray  stamped up on your Stamp A Ma Jig sheet...
Draw round a Circle Framelit with pencil (or Frixion pen in my world!) on your piece of card - I used the 2 5/8" external diameter one!

Place your Stamp A Jig sheet so that the pine-cone curls round your circle....
Ink up all the stamp in Mossy Meadow - then grab your Early Espresso marker- and colour over the pine-cone with Early Espreso

And stamp...

Repeat the last 3 steps again and again until the spray meets...
Note that you do have a little wiggle room for error in one place - it is called the ribbon bow! Though mine actually fit round perfectly...

The greeting is from Embellished Ornaments - it was just too perfect not to use! Again that is inked  all over with Mossy Meadow - and the Early Espresso marker used to highlight particular words...

And all finished off simply with gold Dazzling Details "berries" and a gold glitter ribbon bow.

Simple but perfectly formed...

Woodland Embossing and Heat & Stick Training makes

We had our big team Quarterly Team Training event today - and I was asked to demo some of my earlier shared makes using the Woodland embossing folder and Heat & Stick powder. A real technique based demo if there ever was...

So me being me had to remake a set so that the colours actually all co-ordinated!

And then Julie decided that everyone could make them...and everyone did! What an honour! Think they all liked them  - once some got over their fear of such dark ink on an embossing folder!! And every card was fab....
So here is the set of 5 cards - with some individual photos too...
Unfocused photo above so you can hopefully see how sparkly this one is!
I mainly used the combination of Night & Navy, Smoky Slate and Whisper White - but then I was told that we had gold foil in the training kit - so a quick last minute "goldify" later - and here you have them... though I could not bring myself to put a blue tree on the bottom centre card - so that one went Crumb Cake...
And do check out the glittery Snowflake Elements - they are so gorgeous - whether you use clear Versamark - or Whisper White craft ink - plus Heat & Stick/Dazzling Diamonds - or gold glitter. Think you will be seeing more of those....

This colour combination also defined the colours I used for my swap card (shared yesterday) - as I had to share the Dazzling Diamonds Tile technique too - and that seemed to be the most effective way to get a 6th card using Heat & Stick into everyones' hands
