Elegantly Said Lock & Pop Card

Returning to my Fancy & Fun Fold Friday posts.... with a Lock & Pop card... as shared by Sam at Mixed Up Craft here... another one I love Sam...

A stunner care of the new Elegantly Said suite.... these foiled Elegantly Said Papers are so stunning... and so elegant! I love them! Along with the Stitched So Sweetly die cut frame...

And I know that these cards will be a real hit when I get back to running classes for a living!

This first one was made especially for my son's birthday...

Though... I couldn't resist adding one of the gorgeous new gold Bumblebee Trinkets which may puzzle him...

Though actually it is a great good luck symbol for him at present... as many of the attributed symbolisms of a bee make sense in his life at present... such as focus, persistence, harmony, loyalty and industrious (as in busy as a bee)

And don't forget to order your Simply Elegant Kit soon... as actually... it forms the base of a nice Class in the Mail with the cards I have already made... so a bonus for you!

Triple Pop Up Cube card to say Happy 21st Birthday Joe

A special Triple Pop Up Cube card for a special young man on a special day!

And isn't it lovely that the whole nation has a special day's holiday to celebrate his 21st!!
Though he's busy finishing his final year dissertation off to "hand in" today... so not sure he's feeling the love for the event yet!

And for us... on the one hand we are celebrating Joe's birthday with special food and drinks planned throughout the day for him (and tomorrow too)... and on the other hand we are celebrating the 75th Anniversary of VE Day ... so I made a banner! Care of this and this downloads

Card made using Noble Peacock Speciality Papers and Foil Sheets... gorgeous So Sentimental greeting, co-ordinating Stitched So Sweetly dies and retired Large Numbers dies...

I was inspired by the card shared here by Laurence Mirman at Lolascrap et Compagnie... and (for the first time in ages!) I had to immediately make one... Luckily she shared a tutorial too... thank you so much Laurence... I love this card!
Though I did make up my own pop up mechanism for the greetings... so on the front and the back...
By punching 2 shapes (I used the Tailored Tag punch)... scoring centrally... bone folding... sticking either side of the central crease (with the folded edges face forward/to the centre crease/line) and then sticking the stamped die cut label to them... Bit fiddly in places... but worth it...

And yes it does fold flat...
Though it did confuse Joe!! It took a little while for him to fathom it out! But it was worth it... Happy 21st Birthday Joe...

Happy Valentines Day - an ape chocolate twist!

I had this idea as soon as I saw the Hey Love ape... and even stamped a couple of apes to experiment... but time rolled on (as it does) and it wasn't until this week when I was packing my son's Valentine box that I finally remembered...
And I reckon it worked... 3D card with a cheeky monkey holding a chocolate heart... though I guess that this ape has been trashed by now... and the chocolate well and truly scoffed!
And a few photos that hopefully say it all... for anyone needing a quick fix to having forgotten so far today!! Just stamp, colour, cut & stick a couple of apes like so.....

More details on the colouring and the card for you here...

Hope you have all had a lovely Valentines Day... and that you have all been spoilt!

Tuesday Tip - Splicing paper

So is that a happy - or a sad - face??

Either way it will make my chocaholic boy happy... so I couldn't resist buying this pot of M&Ms for a chocolate valentine treat...

But being a Stampin'Up! demonstrator... I couldn't resist a simple bit of decoration!!
And then I realised that I didn't have a long enough length of the All My Love hearts papers to go all around the pot! So invention was the mother of necessity as always... and a bit of cutting and trimming later I had 2 pieces with a match at the join...

And then it dawned on me that there was a really easy way to join the papers so that the pattern matched perfectly... just a bit of Tear & Tape on the back of the one piece... with the other half of the Tear & Tape exposed and ready to go... and then pop the other onto the other half of the tape!
Easy peasy! Simple paper splicing!
All finished off with a length of Sale A Bration Botanical Butterfly papers... Lovely Lipstick greeting from the Hey Love stamp set... and a few medium hearts from the Meant To Be stamp & die set...

Sorry I didn't get a better photo!! Bit it kinda matches this card idea...
