Birthday Cheer Lidded Box Frame Card for 3D Thursday...

A re-work of an old classic... a Lidded Box Frame card... for which you will find an original and the Tutorial here....

Updated using Broadway Bound papers... and the new Birthday Cheer bundle... perfect for whom I had in mind...

Talking of Birthday Cheer... which I have just opened and am very inspired by...

The dies are running low in stock in Europe... and sadly it is not carrying over into the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue... so now only available while supplies last... so get them whilst you can...

And the Broadway Bound papers will likely be on the Retiring List come 15th April too... as it is so rare for any papers to carryover from year to year...

Though as these have been really popular in these parts... I would really like to be proven wrong!
And an admittance... as this is the other card that I produced on Tuesday... which I made a very last minute mistake on... with my scream being heard for miles around (probably)...

Wonder how many of you can see it straightaway!?
Suffice to say... I then had to make another card to get one off in the post...
As I ripped up all the front when I pulled by sideways-on panel off!!!
Rectification job for another day then! As I can never let things go to waste...

Broadway Bound Dandelion Wishes Peekaboo Gatefold Card

Thought I would just try a couple of things whilst the Dandelion Wishes was still out...

Back in the day when I first made a dandelion head from the Balloon Celebrations set... I was inspired to do so because of some Sale A Bration papers we had at the time... click here for the details for that share from over 3 years ago... though sadly I didn't share a pictorial at the time... but I know there are lots of videos and tutorials out there by others...
So I thought I would go back around the creative circle by stamping the seed heads on some paper... and Broadway Bound colouring seemed like the obvious way to go... stamped in Staz On so as to ensure it stays on over the foiled dots!

And I have to add that I am SO happy that my lovely Staz On came back into Store... still my most used Black ink overall... and I do so love the smell!!! Think almonds...
And I tweaked the A6 Peekaboo card... just ever so slightly... so this version is less precise on the measurements needed for prepping and in class use... and so will probably become my Go To version...
So Craft Spa Recipe for A6 Tweaked Peekaboo Card
A4 card 14.8 x 19cm
Paper 14.3 x 4cm (x2)
Inside Mat 14.3 x 9.5cm
Ribbon x 11" (28cm)

Card Tutorial
1. LANDSCAPE (ie long side along top bar) on trimmer.
2. Score 4.5 cm from either side (ie score 4.5cm, turn 180 degrees, score 4.5cm)
3. Bone Fold (the stronger your bone folding the better!!!)
4. Decorate as necessary

Note that I use Tear n Tape for sticking the bow... I find it stronger than using glue dots... and therefore the overall closure stays down better.... Though (with hindsight & thinking out loud) using 2 glue dots would probably work as well!!

All finished off with the greeting and random seed heads on the inside...
Which can just be seen when the card is closed for extra interest...
And difficult to see in the photo... but a Metallic Silver Pearl finishes off the centre of the head... note that the pack contains both silver and gold pearls...

Make a Wish Peekaboo Gatefold card... with a punched closure

Another of the standard A6 size Broadway Bound Peekaboo Gatefold Cards... for which you will find the recipe and Tutorial here...

But with a different closure this time... care of a punched Classic Label greeting... so that the stitched circle can just be popped behind and the card closes really nicely...
Note that the greeting was inked & stamped with the line beneath it (ie as it comes) ... as the Classic Label punch then punched "the line off"
Broadway Birthday Photopolymer Stamp Set
This is where the 2 parts of the Wish die cut Broadway Lights greeting really come into their own...  as you can place the 2 parts where it makes sense for your project!!

Fancy Fold Friday - bright Broadway Bound Birthday card

So ... you may have noticed that all of the Broadway Bound cards I have shared to date have had one thing in common... and that is ... that I have used the foiled side of the papers only...

Being really honest... I found myself unable to use the somewhat brighter, lighter, younger in heart side... I was REALLY struggling with colour & imagery overload!

But then I demoed the card in my first class... and made myself put glue on the shiny foil side... and so use the brighter side... and I then became hooked!! I think it was something to do with cutting out the aperture in the centre... so then my eyes were not overloaded anymore...

And now... I love both sides equally... which makes the paper pack even better value for money... suitable for all ages and occasions! Love it when that happens...
And this of course used my new Simple Swing Easel Card method... click here for the Tutorial...
The hats are die cut out of the papers... great touch!

And the WISH sign/frame was created as described in this post here... which shows the same card using the flip (foiled) side of the papers... and also has more information and photos of the products I used on both cards...

SU! Products Used
Papers – Broadway Bound
Stamps – Broadway Birthday
Punches - Classic Label
Dies – Broadway Lights, RETIRED Squares Collection OR Layering Squares with front aperture slightly smaller

Thank You dies... 2 ways

A very quick share today to show some of my crafty friends what I have tried to describe with the NEW Thank You dies... as well as a simple card too...

Top is how the greeting is die cut.... ie as it comes... essential piece of kit in my opinion! Though I do send a LOT of Thank You cards out every month...
Bottom is how it can look with just a few snips... above the Y to the left... and below the K to the right...

Simples... and gives you lots more scope... even more essential then!!
And the long version will be hitting a card (or two) very soon... but this tip couldn't wait to be shared...
Oh and the card is a Peekaboo Gatefold Card with a Bow Closure using the Broadway Bound papers... for which I have made a few over the past week or so... so more details coming very soon...

Fancy Fold Friday Tutorial for the Simple Swing Easel Card

So as I was busy creating Swing Easel cards for my July classes... a sudden "paper-engineering" thought came upon me... and the trial luckily proved VERY successful...

So put away my original cut and score method for the Swing Easel Card... and try this simple way instead! It is definitely a lot simpler...
But whilst I am in the process of converting all of the Swing Easel Card Tutorials to this Simple method... just click here for the A4 cardstock version...or here for the 12x12 cardstock version... and the same card size 5 1/2" (14cm) square one is here...

So this is another 5 1/2" (14cm) Square card size.... or as we say around here ... the one size fits all the world version!!
So without further ado... here are the Tutorials...

First up a pdf version of the Card Tutorial... for you to click...and download/save/print...
Second up ... the written version with an extra picture of the crosspiece position... and extra details of the final decoration... as well as the Shop links in the Recipe...

(c) Die cut Basic Black Wish... with another metallic pearl on the dot of the "i"
(d)  "MAKE A" stamped in Black and then punched with the
Classic Label punch.. popped up with mini 3D foam dimensionals...  And you will be delighted to know that you can stamp the "MAKE A" image as it comes (ie with the line underneath) as the punch spacing just removes the line!
